CoD/W:tF 2E?

  • Also it's been a week. That is way fast to be pessimistic. We've cleaned up the boards, channels, jobs. We've had people returning from way back when, had scenes going just about every night with plot foo. We've had respecs and new characters and... it's been a week. Not sure how much faster things are supposed to go, honestly.

  • Pitcrew

@insomnia Not to mention a lot of places are still coming out of holiday comas.

  • There' that too. And it was also completely unexpected. I mean, here we were bitching about Spider, and then there was some whimsy, and BAM! Game is back.

I'm guessing good slow though? Slow and steady wins the race?

  • @insomnia Frankly, that y'all went from ' ...hey, does anybody maybe wanna... ?' to 'there is RP happening period' within a week is a blinding speed miracle worthy of a jaw-drop and a hearty whoop of applause.

'cause that's some pretty epic-level stuff to pull off.

  • Pitcrew

@surreality ...What? Any new game, especially a nWoD game right now, is going to have scenes in a week. Not saying they are slow or fast, I don't know, but I think what you said right there made no sense at all.

  • @sunnyj OK, tell you what, then. You build a game, a wiki, get it all up and running, have people through CG and on grid and in actual plots in a week, and I'll believe that.

I'm not talking 'within a week of opening'.

I am talking 'within a week from somebody saying, "Hey, do we want to maybe have a game?"'.

    These are very different things.

  • Pitcrew

@surreality That is very possible, yes.

  • @sunnyj I genuinely cannot envision a game of any quality whatsoever going from idea to plots in motion on grid inside a week, sorry.

  • Pitcrew

@insomnia I wish a revival of Shadowrun: Seattle could go down like that.

I need to come up with a solid domain name that can host both my wiki and Darkwater's wiki without a problem that will help a lot too.

@lithium Seriously you are the best <3

@Admiral Okay! Misunderstandings happen, I apologize if my post came off sharp, like I said I was off a 10hr shift (technically close to 10.5-10.75hr shift) that ended with me being shouted at and literally driving away with (mild) worries for my safety.

    I mean, you said it.

That whole convo seems pretty silly too. I mean, you're ignoring the fact that they skipped every step involved in making a MU.

    They didn't make anything new.

They reopened a 10 year old game and did very little to update it.

The room you log into still talks about werewolves, last I saw. The "wiki" was just a wikidot with a cover page and character pages.

I don't want to rag on the game, but acting like they pulled off some miracle because they copy/pasted a 10 year old MU is....pretty weird and feels very MSB circle jerk-y.

Thank you for pointing that out, I’ll get that fixed after I’ve had some sleep. (Not at home right now).

We do have +news up, actually thanks to @JinShei (I believe). Though to be honest they need to be gone through and updated— I’ve been focused more on getting people IC. And well work. Plus this particular wiki is temporary.

While I appreciate @surreality’s kind words, I don’t think anyone involved in the game thinks we’ve pulled off something super awesome. My point is whether or not it’s slow coming on here and saying it’s slow isn’t going to help draw players.

(Personally I don’t think it’s going to particularly slow except in my updating things for the reboot. Those who are there and approved are RPing plenty.)

  • Hey, if people are having fun, that's what's important.

    @Lithium

Fallen World had W:tF 2E. You might be able to nab that from its owner, if she were willing to give it to you?

  • Coder

@ganymede I don't want to run a CoD game, I am working with what time I have available on my own original setting and theme. I would love to /play/ on a werewolf game though. If it were 2E.

I want to have to deal with protecting territory, expanding territory, making sure your Locus is safe, facing off against the Pure and everything else, and not really knowing if I can trust the neighboring packs or not without a greater threat to us all in play.

Fair enough. I'll ask, but the project will back-burner.

I just don't think a lot of people want to run a W:tF 2E game right now, partly because some of the interests you've raised haven't been handled well in the past or there's no code to assist in it.
