How about something other than Yet Another World of Darkness MU*? How much longer until we run out of US cities "By Night?" What's left, Chattanooga by Night? Butte by Night?

@ominous Look, if I can't play the Prince of the Mining Museum, I don't see the point in playing *of Darkness.

@Auspice What would your write-in be?

I'm kinda jonesin' for something in like, Berlin or London. Mage/Vamp. 2E, with prep to add Geist in once it's released.
But I know that'd be a big UGH NO WHY from most people.

@auspice I don't know anyone I could use as a resource for telling stories in Berlin or London, and I don't know them well myself. DC I have someone I can make tell me stories about. I know something about Houston, NOLA, or Austin. NOLA taught me that if I can't provide it, it probably won't get provided, though, and a setting like Berlin or London isn't something I'm comfortable providing to a level of quality I'd be satisfied with.

Actually, Austin. I just moved here last year and there's some interesting locations in the city (The Driskill, for one, would make a pretty cool Elysium).

Having grown up in DC, it'd be a meh location for me.

I can see the difficulty of Berlin or London in that regard. I just like the idea of Berlin because of the insane tunnel network beneath it. Like a Necropolis on crack. 😄

I know Louisville, if someone wants to use that. We have the largest historic district of Victorian architecture (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Old_Louisville) , lots of bourbon, and a bunch of buildings that had Papa John's name on them two weeks ago and now don't.

EDIT - Oh, I guess Old Louisville is also the most haunted neighborhood in the US. https://www.amazon.com/Stories-Legends-Americas-Haunted-Neighborhood/dp/1494289016

EDIT 2 - We also have Waverly Hills Sanatorium, which unlike the above book, is known nationally as a truly creepy place. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Waverly_Hills_Sanatorium

On second thought, maybe I should run a horror game in Louisville considering all this creepiness.

@auspice Ironically, though I live in Austin (and have for about 12 years) I would probably have to actually leave my house to know much about Austin that wasn't bats, where to buy board games, and that our LARP scene is full of drama.

                                  BATS.
I finally went to Congress Bridge the other week. 😄
Haven't been to any game store except Dragon's Lair and love it. Don't need another.

I haven't LARPed since Greenville, SC because that was way too much drama for me, ugh.

Now that I have a car I intend to fully learn Austin..... if I ever get free time. I'm up to working 6 days a week starting Monday. (Unless I get this new job).

Anyway, I was dragged to the Driskill Bar on my birthday and I highly recommend checking it out. It's pretty damn swank but in a way that is wholly TX.

                                      You forgot Mummy, you coward!

                                      ...

                                      Ahem.

                                      ...

I'm also kind of in the non-WoD category? I've had a recent obsession with Battletech/Mechwarrior RPG, am dabbling with Exalted, and am putting far more thought than I'd like into making a Pokemon version of the FFG Genesys system. So... whee?

ETA Sleep makes for cranky me. Buuuut I've been plugging Mummy longer than some of your options have even existed.

Living 30 min drive from St. Augustine, I can vote for this. It has an interesting vibe. There's a small, high-end historical district. There's a touristy-beach area. There's wealthy areas to the north and south of the city along the beach, and there's a lot of really sketchy areas. It's one of the few places in the state where you can find affordable housing close to the beach. I mean, I wouldn't trust the safety of those houses, but still.

Bonus points if you emit the Holly Jolly Trolley rolling by the historical district with cheesy Christmas songs every 5 minutes in the holiday season.

ETA - I'm tired of massive games. More single sphere please.

Okay, RDC, my long lost friend, your vote options are absolute ASS.

I want to play Demon so bad I would do literally anything. I would host, code, and pay you as game-god a monthly stipend. I mean not like a lot but hey, have some coffees. Then I would promise to say something nice about you every day. Plus other benefits. I don't even know what the benefits would be, I'm just expressing my pro-Demon stance here.

So I voted for the only option that included pro-Demon bias, Mage/Demon/Beast only in Washington. Though I have no particular interest in mage or beast in washington (or at all: beast seems tweaked, though I'm not opposed to it entirely, if I can play a Demon.)

But just saying, these options are ass. They largely do not let me say OMG YES DEMON in a way that is sensible.

@auspice We literally have a goth/industrial placed called Elysium.

But Austin would not be a great place for a WoD game. There is no real darkness here.

Edit: I voted for no Mage/Demon/Beast. I can stomach a game with Mage or Beast but I am not touching a Matrix: The Matrixing game with a ten foot pole. Demon: The Fallen was my favorite in oWoD but this nDemon does not appeal to me whatsoever. I don't even want to play on a game where it exists as canon.
