An Apology to BSO and BSU.

I wasn't doing any weird shit. Randy has literally no idea what you're talking about.
Basically, let's lay it out like this: I'm still friends with the people involved and playing on the game. You have been banned from there twice.

@auspice Uh. No. You were talking marriage and babies and shit, and I was uncomfortable with what was going on elseMU* (this was the same time as @tek for the record was doing all the weird shit with Clara/Randy, et al), so I made the move to put all my relationships to an end. I should have told you more on that, and I'm sorry. So, yes, I killed off the character, especially since it was a roster pull from a former character who informed me after I pulled the char that he wasn't supposed to be on roster, which made me feel worse. I made that decision. I'll own it.
I think the better approach would be to find a way to be direct with people. Like, "Hey, that's cool for you. I'm not into it. No hard feelings." Just, a word of advice.

I will note that the suicide of Marcus was not a single incident. He's done it on other games, too.
He did it on Unification twice and on 5th Kingdom.
So it's not like it was an accident, a mistake, or a 'one off' situation.
If abruptly tossing characters off-cam for injury counts... more than twice?
No apology necessary (especially if it is going to be filled with doublespeak) but I'm going to be real with you, you made me uncomfortable @DownWithOPP. When our paths crossed, the PMing and pressure you apply to join large scenes is irritating and eventually for me, once it became a constant that I could expect every time I signed in, bordered on aggressive.

lol.
You were the one who brought up marriage on the characters. I know it's he said/she said at this point, but most people can tell you I don't do baby RP. My characters might talk about it, but they'll never actually get there (and most end up being infertile in some way).I mean, it's saying something that I've had other people tell me you made them uncomfortable by trying to go immediately into declarations of love.
I rolled with it because I tend to be laid back and roll with things unless they go wildly outside of my comfort zone ICly. I RP because I like the challenge and to see what happens. But the insinuation that I'm the one who went there is patently false. However, we are all well aware of your status as a liar.

I agree that throwing your char off-cam due to injury is not a big deal (as long as you just give people a courtesy heads up...it's not required, but it's thoughtful). Character death that can cause irrevocable emotional trauma to other characters with little to no notice on a game where that is not the status quo is...negligent of other people's feelings.
As for the aggressive-ish RP pressuring. >__< ...that sucks and is unfortunate.

Wait. Skype dates? That kind of sounds familiar. Did this guy also play Zachary on BSO, by chance?

Someone should rename this thread to 'The Roast'

Yeeeep.

I'm just here for the popcorn.

@downwithopp This is Kell/Alek from BSO, just wanted to chime in my experiences from an outsider's (who didn't know much of all this drama that was going on) view looking in. I don't think we've RP'd with each other from other games in the past, or I just don't remember as I'm really bad at knowing who is who until it is pointed out to me.
You ran a lot of scenes and mission stuff which was great in my book, a definitely plus for the game. The minus I saw was as others have mentioned, your ability to just kill off or retire characters continuously, sometimes within months. That's a big minus because not only does it kill any relationships and connections you have with others in the past, it also leads to the consequence of other players not willing to put in an effort to build connections with your new flavor of the month character.
My advice is that you posted your apology, a good first step. Just leave it at that, there is no reason to argue with others about what happened. It might not be how you saw it, but that doesn't matter as what matters is what they felt when interacting with you. Just leave it be, go back to lurking and silent mode. Focus on changing how you behave and how you play your characters, stick with one or two characters at most and just keep them going, through thick and thin. Avoid relationships since that seems to be a trigger point, and try to shed the behavior you have identified yourself as what other people dislike and want to avoid. The only way to change for the better is to work on continuous improvement on yourself, one step at a time.
Path to redemption is available to everyone, just some roads are much more difficult than others.

I dub this a Trumpology

Oh fuck. I sadly fell victim to his lies and had even left BSO for a while because of them. Thankfully Dropkick is a sweetheart and let me return once I got hit upside the head by a self-induced clue-by-four and came back.
Marcus was after Zach, yes?

He was. BSO even has a whole policy named after this guy now, since he evaded his ban as Zachary/Auggie to go back as Alastair/Marcus.
A lot of people fell victim to his lies. A lot of us want to trust people. We want to believe people.
And some people take advantage of that.

What characters are we talking about? It's been a bit since I stopped on BSGU but some of this sounds kinda familiar-ish.

Let me see if I can remember...
Kazimir, Beckham, Jonas, Tucker, Mason... am I missing any?

@thenomain I dunno. I just like the gif.
To make this more on topic, the guy who made the post doesn't seem to grasp why a bunch of people have problems with him, as far as I can tell. Without knowing all the particulars, I'm also not a fan of essentially cycling through a number of characters over a short period of time for the exact reason that was mentioned above: it's very difficult to really consider doing anything meant to be long-term when someone might drop/kill/etc. a character at the drop of a hat, and it would leave me hesitant to put too much time or effort into things with that player.
I also think it's in bad form to take a private conversation over MSB chat and copy/paste it here without permission from the other side when it's done in an attempt to seemingly save face. I consider it a little different than an entire pastebin of someone acting crazy to a bunch of people, because that's more public in the scope of a game itself.

Well it is funny, but there's this gigantic thread about their new administrative style and they said they wanted us to self-police a little, and if I can't be the resident tweed robot then I can at least be my usual killjoy.

@auspice Ahhhhhh, yep. I got a little of this. Mild by comparison, but it set off alarm bells even then. Funny how those instincts bear out.
