I understand why the player was punished, if they were warned previously. I can even understand that he needed to be because he had been warned.
But I agree with the previous posters that this seems arbitrary.
First, that this was an issue in the first place: it absolutely seems unnecessary to punish people for using characters who are ESSENTIAL to their characters and not apped. Jarvis for Iron Man, Alfred for Batman, Aunt May for Spiderman...these are characters that are integral to the characters. These are characters that are rarely apped. As previously stated, there's no real issue with allowing them to be emitted; if one is apped, then they're under no obligation to continue previous RP, the same way any other apped character is free to keep or disregard previous RP.
Second, that this ban has been been unevenly applied, with Alfred being allowable to be used as an advantage for the Bat family that they can pose, but the same is not allowed for Aunt May. If this is going to be a ban, it needs to be clearly defined and uniformly applied.
Third, that this was done without any post or explanation whatsoever, leading numerous players to be confused or alarmed by the player apparently leaving the character without explanation. If this was a legitimate staff decision, it should be posted with reasons why, both so other players know what not to do and so staff can lay out the reasons. It's not like players won't figure it out and then wonder why staff wasn't upfront about it.
Finally, while I understand the need to punish a continuing violation, it seems really harsh to kick the player from the character, when he has otherwise been a very inclusive and active player responsible for getting lots of people into RP. A few weeks or month ban would have gotten the point across. Instead, the mush has now lost an excellent player and disrupted RP for numerous other players.
