Oof. I mostly just lurk here so there is likely a collective 'huh? who?' at my post. But maybe an old friend will stumble across this and we can be like HEY! Or an old enemy and we can finally fight to the death. Or perhaps someone I unknowingly wronged and I can make things right.
-= CURRENTLY =-
Spirit Lake: Roo, Birdie
-= PAST =-
Arx: Caith, Maja, Mercedes, Petra
Fate's Harvest: Cressida, Agnes, Mireille, Lala, Elliot
Fallcoast: Lotje, Ruth, Cressida, Simone, Hullabaloo (staff)
The Reach: Cosima
Keep Austin Wyrd: Elinor
Firan: Lucile, Diamia, Tivana, Yasmina, probably a couple others, RoseBuilder/Beatrix (staff)
Aether: Thalia, Erianthe
Paris Fleur du Mal (or something like that): Soleil, a couple others I can't rememberI played on various WoD games: Metro, Crescent City but can't remember what my character names were. Mila, maybe? And some girl who was blind to the living world but could see the dead. I also played on this MU*/MUD hybrid way, way, waaaaay back in the day called Chomestru or something like that.
Good times.

Hola, welcome to the Former Firan Staff And All I Got Was This Persecution Complex club!
-
@sockmonkey I don't think we ever crossed paths in Aether but I was Sharpclaw and I briefly played a mongrel gladiator and, IIRC, some Empyrean I didn't do much with if anything at all.
-
Pretty sure I played with Cosima on The Reach at some point.
-
Hiii! It's nice to see you are still playing.
-
Holy crap a fellow Aetherite. Yo.
-
Ah, Cressida. She was a lot of fun! I actually still remember the very first scene that I encountered her with while I was playing Dayne. Awkward and fun. It was great!
-
@Tinuviel I wasn't staff on Firan for too long -- long enough to get a name but I stepped down when they put a rule in place that all staffers were responsible for running at least one plot per month (or something like that). I'm good at some things but designing/running plots isn't one of them so rather than inflict my non-sensical storytelling on the player base, I went back to just being a player.
@Wolfs Sharpclaw .. sounds vaguely familiar. I probably had more characters on that game. Was it a Sylvan? I don't know! It was a long time ago!
@Coin I loved playing Cosima. She was the worst waitress in the world.
@Sparks Heeeeey!! Did I hear right? Did you give Changeling a try?!
@Thenomain We're not that rare! Who did you play? Granted, the chances of me remembering who you were are slim since that game was forever ago and it took all my brain power just to recall my own character's names. And I'm not entirely sure I got them right. Remembering is HARD. What day is it? Where am I? Where are my pants?
@Faceless Daaaaaayne! Cressida trying her derpy hand at flirting was fun and I also remember having some really good OOC talks with you too.

@Faceless Daaaaaayne!
I miss Dayne, a lot. I think Cressida and... Jimena? Were the only people he felt weird trying to flirt with. Everything else was basically fair game because more often than not, Dayne was high out of his mind on cocaine and greatness, so he rarely really knew what was going on.
-
@faceless Jimena was the best character ever and I miss her every day. Is that weird? That's weird. I don't care.
-
Hey! I was Cataryna and the last Tia on Firan. I always enjoyed RPing with Lucile.

I played the coder Puck. I got fired when I refused to code something that was kind of skeezy for Aestra, though in retrospect it may not have been skeezy so much as it might have added to increasing bureaucracy and I pushed back against it.
I did have a character, maybe even named Thenomain, but like most places I found myself gravitating toward coding as a more relaxing pastime, plus I got to chat with a lot of great people on staff.
-
@sockmonkey I did give Changeling a try, though I find WoD still an overly complex system for MUs. It makes it hard to really dig in for me, somehow.
(Yes, I say this despite being someone who willingly plays Traveller...)
-
@sockmonkey Yes, a Sylvan and graisha. IIRC he was the first graisha accepted into Delphi as a student and as I think back on it I don't know if it was entirely thematic - the point was raised that he was highly unlikely to be accepted due to what he was - but RP went in such a way that it did happen, I think it led to some pretty good RP even if things were starting to slow by that point, and it was a good character building thing. Altair and Okalani were two of the characters involved with that.

I want to say she met Devlin, but I honestly can't remember.

But the big question is would you play it on a Mud? Would you play it with a HUD? Would you could you with some code? Would you should you on the road?

I would not, could not, on a MUD, or on the road, or with a HUD. The game's a mess, I must admit, and players would all want to quit.

Would you with some streamlined rules? Could you without gaming fools? Focused theme or accessed plot? FS3 might hit the spot.
-
@thenomain I would not play with FS3; the system's wrong for this, you see. There's no place without gaming fools, and people like to argue rules. A Traveller MUSH would be a mess, so much it leaves me quite depressed.
(And I'm out; fun as it is, I refuse to play an extended version of this game on someone else's playlist thread.)

Oh no, I give you leave to continue! PROCEED.
