Look. Im gonna need you guys to put your great big trek brains together and make a new trek game like yesterday. Y'all're making me want to play a space scientist real bad again.

I'd be all for a Trek game. I'd be willing to help out in any way I can if anyone was interested in putting one together.
-
@RnMissionRun ???
-
@Cobaltasaurus As I was saying, I'm totally not working on a Star Trek game or anything.
At all.
Which is to say that if I were hypothetically building a Star Trek game, it's not quite ready for players yet. Though, still speaking hypothetically, I would say it is not far off. Hypothetically speaking, that is.
-
@faraday I think this is more the approach I would want to take. Basically big stuff gets some sort of report to track it. I could use department-based forums to cover this. Otherwise it's assumed or hand waved.
However, some good points were made elsewhere on this thread, so I am still mulling it over.
-
The major "pro" with the reports is that people can read through shorter synopses of what are essentially RP logs, to quickly get up to speed with what's going on, why it's going on, who's involved, and so forth.
So if your report "system" isn't enabling that, it's not a good system. The key ideas being short, quick, and easy to read.
-
That was another thing that bugged me a bit about the +reports. There was a definite tendency to write them in bureaucracy-speak and make them fairly long. I feel like it was encouraged. Which maybe was fun for some people and accurate to how TNG in particular portrayed Starfleet, but gosh.
-
Reports are why I always played indie if I played Trek.
fuck reports.
play an indie company.
get rich. -
Well, there's a blast from the past. I'd forgotten about Anomaly. I played Daxaanos Sharei, the Chief Nursing Officer. He was a Betazoid with a rare condition that made it physically dangerous for him to use telepathy. He also had a crush on the Klingon medical officer. Good times there!
-
@BurgerSlave Oh hells yeah, I remember Sharei. I just read the log for one of the promotion ceremonies where Commander Balin pranked everyone at the end and "tar and feathered" everyone and Sharei almost lost his telepathic shit.
-
@goodstarbuck Oh man I'd forgotten all about that! Do you have that log, I'd love to read it over! XD
-
Belatedly: I apologize if my previous post came off as really rude or demanding. I was attempting some humor but I think I fell pretty flat.
Needless to say I am pretty excited about the idea of a new trek game.
-
@Cobaltasaurus So rude. So demanding. I literally am so offended.
P.S. Re: your demand. Soon.
-
Poole!! It's all your fault!!
I was Joran(sp?) Crayn. I don't play very often, I keep going through straight bouts of playing hard and then falling off the face of the planet for a few months. I just decided to swing by this place after being 'away' for a few months.
That being said, I wouldn't mind taking a peek and helping out in whatever capacity I would be able to. Glad to see that you're alive and kicking.

I'll end up just playing some random red shirt. Disposable fodder for plot-lines with no ties.
