@Devrex I'm not saying the codebase changes the crowd, though it did introduce me to a different side of the hobby, and in turn, new people to the hobby itself, but my point was just that I think the majority of games out currently deserve recognition for good administration. The ones I've played on do at least.
Otherwise we can probably all agree about certain older games that I don't particularly feel like naming.

Hi! a disclaimer that this is not my game, but a friend's who doesn't have an account.

      --

The Empire of Adana has existed for six hundred years. The imperial house exerts only loose control over its major vassals and the empire much resembles a broad confederation or alliance. For most, that has meant six centuries of relative peace after the cataclysmic Third Greytide. The empire's neighbours have rarely been able to challenge it openly, but the imperial frontier is far from safe.

The city of Sanctuary is the capital of the empire and home to the imperial court, a term encapsulating any noble who happens to be in the city, and any commoner able to move in noble circles. Sanctuary is the social heart of the empire, the place where alliances are formed and plans made, where even the most restless of adventurers go to find companions and to plan their next steps.

Empire is a fantasy lords and ladies-style MUSH telling the story of the Empire of Adana. It is a game of grand plans and great deeds, cunning plans and clever schemes, social butterflies and dour magistrates, mighty warriors and visionary rulers, gallant knights and monied merchants.

The game uses a roster system: all characters are prewritten and players may choose one.

Empire uses Cortex Prime, a straightforward setting-agnostic RPG toolkit, as a basis for its game system.

Day-to-day roleplay is set in the city of Sanctuary, the imperial capital. Player characters can act on the wider world through GMed events and off-screen actions.

Empire is built in Evennia, a MU* creation system.

      Opens October 31st.

@Ganymede Yeah, I agree about older games. Just left one because of it. The Ares games I've played though have been a much nicer vibe.

Anyhow, I concur. Finding a game where the people on top aren't sacks of shit isn't easy.

I feel like this isn't fair to a bunch of the new MUs coming out now or recently as a result of Ares. That's unfailingly a great crowd in my experience.
