Pokemon?
-
I am still working on my private server. I hate mediacomm... 3 modems and all duds.. I need my net back...
-
@seamus Do you want mindless data entry for all the other Pokémon? Because mindless data entry is what I do best!
-
@jennkryst Very soon, probably. I am writing the interface for setting info on the pokemon parents.
-
@seamus
That is a gorgeous sheet. Kudos.
-
@thenomain That is just the pokedex entry for the base version of the pokemon. I have improved on it since yesterday.
-
@seamus
The focus on readability is still outstanding. I know how much effort goes into things like this, and how little appreciation game designers have for it. Seeing it baked-in to a game design philosophy is worth praise.
Seeing color used for information and legibility is worth a parade.
(Note to ANSI Artists: You count. Making things look nice is hard.)
-
@zombiegenesis That's called child rearing.

I'm guessing one of the updates is region? I notice that isn't in the original screenshot.
-
I don't think region is a thing that limits them so much as encounter rate and environment.
Though if it does, it begs the question... which region?
Also, I just remembered there is a difference between PTU and PTA character classes, and I weep, since the one class that builds vehicles is Adventures, not United.

It's still a data point and when you get into, say, Alolan versions, it can also change some of their move sets IIRC.

DARK TYPE MEOWTH!
-
-
My only real experience with Alolan Pokemon has been me playing PoGo, so... yeah. Such Tresemme hair on the Dugtrio though!
-
I spoke too soon. 'Do Porygon dream of Mareep' includes rules for all that stuff. Including Cyberpunk? CYBORG PSYDUCK GO GO GO!
-
-
@auspice It is...
-
Capability listings
-
Skill listings
-
Egg, Tutor, TMs/HMs move lists
-
Pokedex listings, as we support Regional, Unified, Type-ish ones.
-
Resistances based on specific pokemon.
-
Alternate forms, Mega Evolutions.
Most of this is done. I am using a Homebrew game that merges aspects from systems I like. Though PTU for pokemon. I did not like how trainers could impact the battle by actively fighting in batyle. While I did keep this aspect, it has been toned down significantly.
And I am not going for a single region game. I am doing every region.

Sweet. Region was the thing I noticed missing at-a-glance and I remember that being one of the first things the Pokedex 'announces' in the show and video game, so while it might not limit behavior, it's still a data point!
And if you're including multi-regions, it will inform on 'okay which regional variant is this.'
Sweet.

@auspice Right now the only regional variants are the Alolan ones. PTU levels all the pokemon regardless of region. However, there are ways to customize each pokemon via stats, capabilities. Abilities, edges and breeding.
So not all Bulbasaur are cookie cutter copies.

That's what TMs and HMs are for!
