So I'm sitting here attempting to research welding. My character welds. I am scared of frying bacon. So I figured, hey, I know a bunch of people who are constantly working on plots and characters and such. Let's work together.
The purpose of this thread: Let's share our resources, tips, tricks, and whatnot on how we create the people we inhabit for a little while. I shall begin.
Names: Need a name? Got a birth year? http://www.behindthename.com/top/lists/united-states/ - Pick the year and decide how trendy the mother was. Works all the way back to the late 1800s and the whole site is a treasure for names, even fantasy
Playedbys: Tumbr's roleplaying community is...not like ours. But they are a quick place to find young and diverse faces. They call them Face Claims. This one is inoffensive enough, though no longer updated. http://bunchoffaceclaims.tumblr.com/
Reddit has a few subs that cater to the thirsty of all ages. My favs that are mostly clean are https://www.reddit.com/r/LadyBoners/ and https://www.reddit.com/r/gentlemanboners/ I open up all the images and just scroll until someone catches my eye.
I started! So...back to welding research. Yay.

I love Fantasy Name Generators, because you can pick by RL ethnicity, or by Star Wars race, or by... well, a whole lot of criteria.
