      @Arkandel said in Superhero movies:

      Come back from the dead, thread!

      The idea of a united cinematic DCU seems dead now.

      and that article reminded me how angry I am about the BoP movie.

      Thanks, Ark. :<

      Saying the quiet parts out loud since 1996.

        Yeah, this reeks of the same attitude studios had when Batman Forever bombed. "Audiences don't want superhero movies any more, we'll make something else".

        Yeah, the problem wasn't what was in the movie that failed, it was that it was a crappy movie. Individual hero movies can be just as crappy, or awesome, but it's not the premise that will determine it.

          "So, it appears that sometimes heroes don’t wear capes – Wonder Woman seems to have done more to secure the future of Warner Brothers DC movies than Batman or Superman, which is an astonishing achievement. 2017’s Justice League was intended to be the culmination of Warner Bros.’ DCEU, bringing together Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Flash, and Cyborg, but that crashed and burned, changing directors halfway through and undergoing extensive reshoots, which led to an over-baked and under-proved mess of a film."

          There was never anything wrong with the material or the premise, but there was a lot wrong with the person they chose to helm the project.

          “It is better to live doing the things that you like. It is foolish to live within this dream of a world seeing unpleasantness and doing only things that you do not like.” -- Yamamoto Tsunetomo.

            Sony and Disney finally reached an agreement and a third Kevin Feige produced MCU Spider-Man movie will hit theaters July 16 of 2021.
