CoD Ancient Rome game...
-
So, I love Requiem for Rome. I think it is a super fun and interesting setting. I am heavily, heavily considering updating that to 2e and using it as a setting for a MU*. However, updating the Werewolf and Changeling games to fit the time period as well! I am aiming for a coded system that makes things like Conditions and such easy to add and remove for ease of roleplay. Also, I want to make the setting as easy to get into as possible for people. I don't want it to be a game that requires someone to be a history major. Sure, there will be historical things, but if a player mainly has watched Gladiator or Spartacus or something, they can still jump in (With the understanding of some news files giving better explanation and making sure folks aren't totally being out-of-theme).
Does this sound doable? Would anyone be interested? I was originally planning a 20th anniversary game but was doing it myself, and writing all the theme AND teaching myself how to code made it...impossible.

yes.

I am sure there will be plenty of people biting on this.

Might I suggest checking out the Dark Eras book(s)? They've got Werewolf Legionaires already written in one of them.
I am 100% here for this.
-
@Jennkryst Oooh, cool! I will take a look!
-
Interesting. Dark Eras paints the Pure not necessarily as antags, but strange bedfellows, even existing in the same packs as Forsaken. This is something I'll need to consider!
-
@RDC Haha! Interesting idea.
I'm going Rome, but Ancient Babylon would be rad, too!

Obligatory 'Skim the books for ideas you like, take the ones you want, and then write up the specifics on your wiki. And tell everyone to ignore the books beyond that' statement.

So Mummy will be a thing here, yes?
-
@Jennkryst On Mummy: I haven't read it, so I don't know! Rome and Egypt had a lot of connections, of course, so there would possibly be opportunity for them? I can't give a good, proper answer on that atm!
-
@toreadorfool If you HAD read it, I'd demand a copy: Mummy 2e is set to hit Kickstarter hopefully before the end of the month, we'll see.
-
OH! Then it will be a 'time will tell' thing. I won't discount it! But we have a lot of other groundwork to do first.

I am waiting for the server to be ready to log on, but for now I DO have a discord. Folks who have interest in helping, or hanging out, can check it out. An easier way of working on things and communicating, I find.

Rome would also be one of those settings that I feel certain types of Promethean would work in. Limited, but it could be cool.

Someone who knows better and can explain why I am the dumb...
Mage, but you have to buy EVERY spell you want to cast.
Discuss.
-
@Jennkryst That's not how mage works.
-
@Tinuviel Allow me to clarify the idea I was trying to get across:
HR'd to work that way.
-
@Jennkryst Allow me to clarify my point:
That literally goes against the core of how Mage works.
