I am Osiris (co-owner of Firefly). So of course I know that I'm not the same person as @watcher, who paged all of this to me, and I willingly fill in the other name that our troll used for me.

Part of our troll's MO is definitely trying to point out how smart and threatening he is, by knowing who everyone is. So, he "knew" Watcher was a cheaty-alt of Osiris... and that as Osiris I'm also Otrere here (though the dude couldn't even spell it right once). He kept referring to me as Otere, or hun, throughout our conversations that day. He also namedrops on other people and their elsemu/else-social/RL identities.

That's about when the +mail spamming started, and staff took their own steps to deal with this clown. He hasn't been seen since, and I can't say I'm sorry.

We are now blocking connections from VPNs on Firefly - Still Flyin'. Guest bits are no longer able to send +mail. So yeah, we "can't do shit." We'll have guest access open again later today.

Can we get real about dick pics for a second? I am interested in this armchair psychoanalysis. Why do people send them? What is the motive? What goes through a person's mind when they snap a picture of their penis and then share it with a stranger? I am genuinely curious.

Science doesn't know. Or does it? Are there studies on dick pics yet?

I'm guessing it largely has to do with showing dominance, though. "Look, I just forced you into a sexual situation whether you liked it or not."

If there's consent from both parties I don't think we're going to see complaints either. People can do anything they want to each other as far as I am concerned, as long as there is consent.

This player had also picked up a roster on Spirit Lake. Thanks to folks who shared info about him - after getting the new Ares security upgrades in, he's been banned from us as well.

His behavior on our game never crossed a line (that we knew of), but given what we've seen from him from people I know and trust, we're not willing to give him that chance.
