Post ideas you got from works of fiction. I started an Awakening 2e game that was inspired by Blade Runner 2049. You can still read the writeup, but I had to shutter that game when my father died this Summer.
What works of fiction have you aped, and how, and why?

Darker fantasy has been really appealing to me lately. A Land Fit for Heroes, The Broken Empire , Cain's Law. I have been growing increasingly tired of games where everyone is the good guy and somehow manages to go from zero to murder at the drop of a hat.
Those books show that evil (or at best a very jaded and selfish Chaotic Neutral) is a perfectly viable playstyle, and that you can make them deep, interesting characters that people want to work with rather than mustache twirling idiots that cackle all their mad plans.
I will make a game for this. Someday. When I can reclaim my RL.

@Derp I mean to a degree aren't all of the World of Darkness games supposed to be like this? In Vampire you play a blood guzzling cannibal, in Werewolf you play a spirit-addled lunatic with violent anger issues, and in Mage you play someone who took too many red pills and is consequently a psychopathic megalomaniac, yet in all of these you have compelling reasons to be this way and aren't just Pure Evil (tm)

That's the idea but you aren't ever allowed to play that. If you play the lying seductive vampire you're being a sex-pest predator, if you play the rage-filled werewolf you're being a dick bully, and if you play the mage who can bend the world to his literal will then you're being a powergaming jackass. Doesn't matter that it's all baked into theme. This is MU and you have to be nice and cooperative, dammit.

@Derp I haven't played on MUDs in a long while so maybe this is why. In smaller groups you end up getting a lot more leeway. Oddly enough you also see a whole lot less special snowflake crap in spite of the fact that you have a whole lot more license to be a special snowflake; it's paradoxical, almost
