What are you playing...?

@Jennkryst That got shot down. I actually went to the other Prospect game and am playing there. 23.92.76.139:5555
Almost the same game but with more activity and you don't have to wait for approval to hit the grid. It's softRP till things get rolling.
A little bird told me that there is some drama between the possessed and the werewolves that could be the reason my app is taking so long. Which if that's true they could have just told me something was up and I would have apped something else but instead I've just been in limbo so I just went and apped at the place where you don't have to wait.

No Mummy. Remaining all the disappoint.

I mean, I'll look into it, maybe. But making an alt setting of a MU is kind of on-the-nose. Why not just create a different city/setting? Folks are still going to copy/paste characters from one to the other, no matter what, so it's silly to go on with the same thing.
-
I have logged on to discover not only is there a lack of Mummy, but the Book of Madness is not included, either. Your uphill battle to convince me to play there is gradually becoming a free climb situation.

I asked Aqua about the mummy sphere for you and the reply was:
Aqua(Q) pages: Er .. that doesn't look like a plan for Mummy. And we're NOT doing a clone of CoH ... we're picking up from New Prospect (which was a forking from CoH, admittedly) ... so, no, at this time, there's no plans for it, just as there was no Mummy sphere at the beginning of CoH, and never had been on NP.Half of which I don't understand because I stopped playing MU back in 2012 so I missed all the forking but I think Mummy is not in their future plans.

As I understand it, CoH shut down, people decided to take the database and start their own version of CoH ('New' Prospect), and then CoH came back. Could be wrong, because I wasn't there for any of that, so dunno.
What I DO know is that I've had fun on CoH, despite my gripes with oWoD mechanics, because I enjoy Gonzo stuff. So another MU, in not only the same generic setting, but specifics? With FEWER options of stuff to play?
It'd take an exodus of folks I hang out with to pull me somewhere based on all those other factors. Or, obviously, some of those other factors to change.

Close but not quite. CoH was created, then grew a bunch, new staff was added. Old staff stepped back, new staff ran things. Original staff returned and disagreed with things. Since they had back ups, they opened New Prospect. Throughout all this both games were on the same machine, since original CoH staff was still providing the server now for both games. Two games co-existed for a while then the folks with the server decided we aren't mushing any more and both games went down. Now both games are coming back. CoH was a lot more organized and came back to what it was a lot faster at New Prospect the rebuild is moving as a slower pace.
Since the people I liked split about 50/50 I have ended up playing both places. -
I enjoyed playing CoH for a while -- it's a great place to try those really off the wall concepts that you can't get out of your head, but that most sane places will look at you sideways for trying to get away with -- but ultimately it just felt kind of aimless. Part of that is my own fault, since one of the problems with playing an off-the-wall concept on a game where anything goes is that there probably won't be a lot of people you'll have much in common with. It was fun while it lasted, though, and I got some wonderful individual scenes out of it, even if the experience as a whole sort of went nowhere.
Right now I'm just playing Fallcoast. Though a KD character concept has started to poke its way into my head.

@Haven
Well it's open now. We're just still putting in policies, so it's basically kind of in beta testing more than anything.@DnvnQuinn
Prospect was the split that Sponge and Coyote created before pulling the plug on everything. We just carried over the files we still had in place (since most of us were helping to build the new places) to a new server and picked up where we left off.
