Overwatch, anyone?

And something both OW-related and hilarious as fuck:

(Do not blame me for any mental issues this may cause - my son showed this to me!)

One more OW tidbit, this one being rather interesting in a statistical way:
-
Tomorrow I will be able to play only a little before I have to go to work. Damn you work. Damn you to hades.
-
I won't be able to play as much as I would like to, myself. Husband and friend are coming up from out of town and I got to get ready for that and then entertain them over the weekend.
-
I just have this to say. Pharah now, Pharah forever.
-
Yeeeees. My SO teases me because Pharah is all I want to play. I can't help it! Pharah is so much fun for me. I will eventually branch out I'm sure, but the joy that is missiles to the face will never get old for me.
-
Someone got salty about how I play Pharah. Sorry (not sorry) if my spamming the hell out of my rockets to keep you jerk holes off the control point resulted in us winning.
(edited because it seems I am tired and words are hard at the moment)
-
Pffft. I feel like if you are having fun, not being a dick about playing as a team (e.g. not holding the objective, not taking the objective), that it shouldn't matter how you play the character. I probably don't play Pharah 100% to the best of her ability, but as long as I am having fun and not running around like a chicken with its head cut off on the other side of the universe by myself, it's all good.
Ugh. Is it Overwatch time yet?!?!
(edited for typo!)
-
Today is going to take for EVER! I am already agonizing about the wait and am trying to decide who I will choose to play as first and hoping my Twitch friends will be playing tonight so I can join them and...
-
So last night was a bit hiccup-y as far as staying connected to the game went at first but I think that was due to the rush of people wanting to get in. Took a bit but it eventually smoothed out and I stopped getting dumped.
The game was, of course, as fun as I remembered but two weeks of not playing it has taken a toll on my ability to play well, I find. Not surprising but it is a bit disappointing to basically have to start over from the beginning. I did manage one damn fine match as Soldier 76 where I got 24 kill streak/eliminations and zero deaths. I probably wouldn't have done so well normally but the other team was not exactly playing smart and I was all too happy to exploit that fact.
-
Much better than my best streak.
I went 12-0 as Road Hog and was proud of myself too. Damn you.
-
@Admiral
Sorry!
-
I've been trying new characters at the behest of my SO.
So far Mei and Torbjorn are my next favorites. Torbjorn especially since I got his Blackbeard skin and he looks so awesome as a pirate; and I figured out that my mouse scroll wheel controls switching between 1 and 2 for turret upkeep/weapon.
-
Ha-ha! 25-0 as Junkrat. Suck it world!
Granted it was across two rounds but...
-
That's pretty awesome, @Admiral! I think 25 on Mei was my best so far.
I think I'm going to try Junkrat next, but I really should do my laundry and go to bed... >.>
-
Junkrat is pretty cool. Reminds me of Demoman from TF2 with some extra added stuff to him. A bit difficult to get used to but I shall strive to become a master at that hero!
-
My best advice for playing Junkrat? If you get in tight quarters combat MASH ALL THE BUTTONS AND PANIC. It will work like 90% of the time.
Also practice your concussion mine jumping. You can do some amazing stuff with it if you learn it, and it will give you a ton of mobility the hero desperately needs.
Also your tire bomb can jump.
-
@Admiral Tire bomb can climb walls too, but it dies easy if people are smart enough to shoot it.
-
I have fallen so much in love with Torbjorn. I think it helps that there are many similarities between him and the engineer class from TF2, a class I excel at in that, but with enough differences to make him feel fresh.
One of the similarities is that smart turret placement is a must! It is important to scope out an area that allows for maximum area coverage while also affording it, and yourself, as much protection as possible. Of course this is easier on some maps than it is on others but practice makes perfect.
A difference that I like is that it doesn't take scrap to build your turret up to level 2. The downside to him is that you can't build up the turret to level three until Molten Core procs and it is only a temporary upgrade. Still, it does enough damage and has very good range at level 2 so this is not a disadvantage so much as a very minor annoyance.
Another couple differences I like is that you can pick up scrap off of dead enemies which you can use to toss out those armor packs you and your teammates can use. While perhaps not quite on par with Engineer's dispenser it is still a valuable asset, making Thorbjorn more of a team player.
