Shameless Self-Promotion part IV
-
So I recently became a Twitch Affiliate. While I'm still uploading videos to Youtube, I'm streaming exclusively on Twitch for now.
Do you have an Amazon Prime account? You get a free subscription every month to Twitch affiliates or partners. I'm basically posting here to ask people who aren't using the free sub to use it on me, basically. It doesn't cost you anything, and it does help me out. Maybe it's my mid-life crisis but my only income right now is from testing games and streaming.
Other ways you can help me:
I am also both a Greenman Gaming and Humble Bundle Affiliate. Clicking on either of those links and buying games will give me a little bit of money as well; Greenman Gamin is a flat fee, and the Humble link gives you a Moiren slider in addition to the normal Site, Charity, dev sliders, so you can still decide where your money goes. And if you buy a Humble Monthly bundle, I get a flat fee.
I am also now, a Fanatical (Formerly Bundle Stars if you used to use them) partner now too!Of course I'd be happy if people followed and watched me for my content or personality, but if you're a Prime member, you don't have to. Win for everyone!

My Twitch link
I didn't know about the free sub, so since you told me about it- you got mine.
(EDIT: esp. since the only other person who would get it does have a full-time job outside his streaming and I know he just got a raise. So he'd probably tell me to use it on you instead.)
-
Yay! Thank you!
Yeah the free sub thing has been around since Amazon bought Twitch, but not a lot of people know about it, especially since it doesn't show up to a non affiliate since they can't have subs. I had mine forever before I realized about the free one.
You do have to re-sub each month which is nice too so it doesn't "take" the sub from you, if you have multiple people you want to support too, so that's nice.

For idiots who have never used twitch, how do you go from prime to twitch in a way that helps you out? This is amazon uk prime though? Does that matter?
-
I didn't even think of that! Thanks for the question. I don't think it matters what sort of Amazon you have, so long as it has prime.
Linking through Twitch
Linking through AmazonThose links are instructions for each page. Honestly though it's just a matter of finding where to link on either page.
-
@jinshei I just linked my amazon.co.uk account to my twitch account for the kooky Chocobo reward on FFXV, so it definitely works. Just log onto twitch.tv and click the crown icon by your name and click 'Claim Offer' if you're like me and can't find where to get started, as choosing any one of the offers sets you on the same path for linking Amazon-to-Twitch.
-
Congrats on affiliate! I still haven't managed to actually start streaming, sob. But I've popped in to watch you now and then!
-
Thanks! They sent me the email when the program started, but I had just started multi-streaming and didn't want to loose those views. But also I wasn't sure I could make money off it (I am a sellout, yes.) but I've already had my first bit war so yay!
Plus I'll be honest, I can set my channel to adults only on Twitch. Kids are going to lie, I know, but I have no urge to police myself like I do on Youtube.

I stream daily on Twitch (https://www.twitch.tv/moiren), and am a Humble partner. This month Humble has partnered up with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital to unite gamers in a global fundraising campaign to end childhood cancer. The goal for Humble and all of the partners is $2,000 and my personal goal for the month is $250. I stream Monday to Friday for at least a few hours each day and will be accepting donations through to May 31st. The Humple Partners and friends page is https://tiltify.com/+humble-partners-friends/humble-partners-x-st-jude-play-live? where you can donate directly, or you can donate my page as well. Let's smash this goal and help getting kids better! https://tiltify.com/@moiren/moiren-magpie-plays-live-for-st-jude/donate.

Whats your YT link? Sadly my net isnt good enough to watch twitch content not even vods for some reason but YT works fine
-
@magee101 This is my Youtube link. But I haven't uploaded anythign really since I became a Twitch Affiliate, because a 5 hour stream is a bit much to render and upload daily. (Although I'm just bad at uploading videos at all (ask @Thenomain) but I hope once I know when my hours will be for work I'll be able to post clips from the week and get back to video uploads as well. (Not sure yet if I have to wait 24 hours on the videos, or just streams.)
Have you tried the desktop app to watch things on Twitch, or streamlink? I've been told it helps with streaming, at least, not sure about VoD though.
-
I did not know about this!
Thus, you get my sub
-
Yay! Thank you!
(Even though I'm playing for a kids charity, I swear like a sailor).

Already met and well past the goal of $2000 for the month, and still going. I'm still taking donations as well for the rest of the month with everything I raise going to the group amount!
-
Not using it, so I went through the steps and now you have another. Cheers!
-
Thank you! I really appreciate that!
and since people here LARP and are crafty types, I'm going to put this here: Humble Cosplay Book Bundle here and not somewhere else because it has my affiliate link.
-
Web design and development books bundle.

I am committing the most egregious of sins and bumping my own thread, as there is only 1 week left for this donation drive.
-
Edited the original post to add my fanatical partnership link, and to remind this is the last day for to donate to ST Judes / Humble Play for kids!
-
Bumping this again because I have been off work for a bit now, no voice, which makes it really difficult to do phone customer service, and then my work laptop also decided to have the display up and die as well, so I needed to borrow money from my dad to pay for it until my next paycheck. Doctor has written be being off work until September 1st. And I hate begging for money directly.
So bumping this again, in case anyone has the urge to buy videogames, I am an affiliate with Greenman Gaming, Fanatical (Formerly Bundlestars), and Humble. I get different amounts of money from various places depending on what's going on. (Generally a flat rate on the purchases, but bonuses from Humble for each monthly subscription. And one of the things I like about Humble is sometimes I get a slider, so you can chose how much I get, how much charity gets, the devs, or the site to keep it running.) But I get notified of sales before they come out, sometimes with extra codes that you guys can use to save more money.
#nonspon but seriously, if you haven't yet, check out. isthereanydeal.com It's a really great site for when you finally decide to buy a PC game, or if you see a game you do want, you might find it a little cheaper somewhere else. And if you see it somewhere I am an affiliate, maybe send me a DM so I can make a link for you?
Another way you can help out an internet stranger is if you have Amazon Prime: You get a free Twitch subscription every month, doesn't cost you anything, and I get money out of it. I know some people didn't even know about this when I mentioned it before, and I've actually made it a little easier for people to connect their subscriptions if they don't know how to: Go to my Twitch page and type !prime that will bring up a link that will take you directly to Amazon prime for your country.
I also mentioned way, WAY back that I have a discord, and have a Soapbox role, as well as chat channels if people want to get together and game. I've made it now so that Soapbox will now see my adspam channel where I put in all the links already with my affiliate links attached, and that way you guys can see the sales as they go up before even having to DM me. !prime also works in discord as well.
Because I've lost my voice, but I'm worried about losing affiliate status, so I asked my viewers and they said they were okay with me not talking as much, so if you do tune in, expect some weird ASRM stuff happening, maybe.
I really don't want to lose affiliate and have to get it back because of the loss of my voice, especially because I am super excited because I recently got my first affiliate payout from Twitch, and have gotten payouts from Humble and Greenman Gaming as well, and it really makes me feel like a more legitimate streamer now. So thank you to everyone who has already used their free Prime sub, or poked me about getting an affiliate link. I really do appreciate it.
