A Lack of Imagination
-
I can form images in my head, but it's incredibly inconsistent and I only recently started learning that it's likely related to my severe ADHD. Like, I have visual memories, I can imagine things during a scene, but based on how I hear a lot of people talk, or even the long period of time I spent trying to get good at drawing, I've come to realize that my visualization leaves much to be desired.
Though I like to think that I make up for it by having a naturally good eat and an absolutely insane memory for music. Like, I'm still studying music theory and am not exactly an expert, but just from memory along I accidentally copied a Joe Hisaishi song (the guy who does the music for Studio Ghibli/Miyazaki), which is an insanely fucking complicated thing to accidentally do.
All that is to say, I wonder if when we lack certain normal mental capabilities, we compensate for it in other areas instinctively.

I very rarely can make an image at all. Mostly I think in text. I've been able to make my brain "see" comic panels very occasionally during RP and I find it very helpful.
Sounds and kinesthetic details I find way more relevant to building a "feel" than visuals, because I just rarely manage to make them appear in my brain at all.
