I just got to type the phrase "It's like the "Where's Waldo?" of medieval penis art."

I love bored scribes, man. I really, really do.

As has been previously stated, my spouse rather enjoys planning. Plannering. Planteeling. I don't know what the hell to call it. Last night as we were discussing a few matters, she gasped aloud with an idea.

Mrs. Faceless: "Let's get you a planner! For Son's appointments, our date nights, or anything else that you may need to remember!"

Faceless: "I remember our appointments just fine. I don't need a planner."

MF: "Yes you do. You really do. We'll get you stickers, it'll help you keep track of things, I can watch you write in it, and we'll need to work on your handwriting. Then I can take pictures of it and put it on my planner Instagram." ((I should note that all of this was said with a strange sense of desperation. Like a junkie trying to bargain for a fix.))

F: "I don't need a planner. Wait... you have an Instagram specifically for planner things?"

MF: "Yes. I have a few hundred followers."

F: "...what? Really? A few hundred people for planners?"

MF: "Yes. They even have conventions. Like those Cons you talk about sometimes."

            F: "That's cool and weird, I guess. I still don't want a planner though."

            MF: "Come on!"

I actually follow a few bullet journaling (type of planner) accounts on Instagram....

I just got asked if I'd be willing to be a 'lead' for the project and here at the office. On the project it'd just make me a go-to for assisting people and certain escalations... basically things I'm already doing.
In the office, it'd mean I'd be able to open/close the office (alarm codes).

But above all: it comes with a goddamn raise.

Thank you! I'm sure it won't be a massive raise, but if it gets me back to where I was before my old project cut me hours, I'll be doing just fine. 🙂

@faceless Do not get me started about traveler's journals, bullet journals, and otherwise planning out all the things... planning out weekly and monthly spreads and charts and goal trackers...

                      And stickers.

Oh god, I have more stickers and washi tape than one human being probably needs.

                      And I love it.

Sounds like Mrs. Faceless is an awesome lady to me!

@auspice I wanted a Midori, but then I decided I wanted to be able to have even more control over my TN. I'm still narrowing down some covers on Etsy, but I might get more than one because of moods, but money is a factor as some of them are soooooo expensive. And I keep changing my mind about how I want to handle inserts and what other bells and whistles and frills I need. Ugh, damn you options.

                          I want to start hand binding books and making things myself, but again, money and time. ;-;

I do love my MTN. And Clairefontaine makes a notebook (https://www.jetpens.com/Clairefontaine-Basics-Life-Unplugged-Staplebound-Notebooks-Duo-5.75-x-8.25-Red-Green/pd/15156) that fits perfectly. The paper they use is lovely for fountain pens.

I forgot to tell you that I showed her that picture of your journal. She awww'd at it. This also prompted her to try to convince me that I had agreed to keeping a planner of my own in exchange for things. I'm like 91% certain that I didn't.

@auspice That would be my problem too!! Make something so pretty and then hoard it away for safe keeping. I do that with a lot of pretty notebooks already 😐

I adore Clairefontaine notebooks. I'm currently on this French ruled paper obsession. I can't get enough of the stuff.

I really want to move away from my disposable fountain pens into a real one, I'm just still doing a lot of research.

JetPens is my life. That site, ugh. I can spend a pretty penny there.... (and I have).

JetPens is love. So is Goulet: https://www.gouletpens.com/

As for fountain pens, the Pilot Metropolitan is a great entry-level pen, esp. if you want one you can carry around with you and won't go murderfas if it gets lost. I've had mine for a while and love it.

I have two Kawecos and want to buy like, moar accessories for them. Like get a lead holder and a leather pouch for the two and... >.> Ahem.

However, my TWSBI is love. It doesn't leave the house. I want to buy myself another one for Christmas.

I also know people who swear by LAMY, but I haven't tried them yet.

"Awww, quaint", I suspect. She also informed me that the one I showed you isn't an Erin Condren. She has a few, but that one isn't one of them apparently.

My pen is the Uni-Ball Vision Elite .5mm and no other. It doesn't blot when my horribly small and scratchy handwriting flies across the page or stays in one place too long, and I'm more likely to lose the pen than run it out.

Elegant it is not, but like a Golden Retriever never judges nor fails me.

For rollerballs, I'm actually a fan of the Pilot Precise V5. I've handwritten so much with one of those. They glide nice, don't bleed too much, and put down a nice solid line (little fading).

For rollerballs, I'm actually a fan of the Pilot Precise V5.

It doesn't handle the angles I like to write in, and the internal ink delivery slowly leaks internally and I get a less consistent line very quickly. It is a finer line, but I drag my hand all over the place and it's too easy for me to get smudge lines, especially if using it with a straight-edge.

The gel pens give a thicker line even at the .5mm (which is why I would never .7mm on a gel pen), but they settle almost instantaneously.

I admit, the Pilot Precise V5 is hard to beat, and I used it as long as I can remember caring about which pen I used (from Junior High at least), until I found the Vision Elite. Also, the Elite has a smoother, more rounded feel against my fingers and it's fatter so it's easier to manipulate with my thumb.

Not that I've thought about this much.

(edit: That's such a lie. Pens are as personal as shoes, and for exactly the same reasons.)
