@surreality said in Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning:

This is one of the reasons that if ever I have staff who have to translate surreality into people-speak? At least once, I need to have a chat with them on skype -- even if it's just once, because the number of misunderstandings this has prevented is stunning; same as if I end up talking to someone later and there's the forehead smack moment of, 'Oh! I totally get it, now!'. Problem being, I type in precisely the same weird-ass way I talk, but a lot of times I go off into crazy hyperbole that I know is meant in a silly tone to keep the mood light because I'm more or less a living cartoon of a person (it is so much worse with video, for real, no one would be able to take me seriously ever again), but... all the sigh in the world with that sometimes, because I forget how much tone is a thing. 😕

I feel you. So much. This is also my life.

    • Wiki Templates

Comments in a less constructive thread got me thinking about how to properly credit wiki page layouts when the original creator isn't known or doesn't play on any given game where said layout might be used. I have done a lot of wiki work based off of layouts that other people have made across a number of games and while it's never my intention to "steal" someone else's work, I do find myself wondering the best way to credit someone if I don't know who they are and/or where they've gone. What do you folks think the best way to handle this might be? Would it be helpful, perhaps, for wiki creators to link to an example of a layout they made here so proper attribution can be made?

edited to replace the word 'template' with 'layout' so as not to confuse two different wiki concepts.

@Panda plays Isabeau now and I'm PRETTY sure she's been playing her since super duper early on maybe in your timeframe.

Alas, I am Isabeau 2.0 and not the original player he's looking for.

    • RE: What's your favorite MU* client?

I held on to SimpleMU as long as I could, but I switched over to DuckClient so that I could see all of the glorious colors (and have a browser-based client that I could access easily on different computers).
