RE: Good or New Movies Review
Okay, so I finally watched Infinity War, because of Going to See Endgame Tomorrow reasons, and here's what I thought:
It was like going on an Epcot ride, the Tour of Marvel Movies, some of which I haven't seen and felt completely lost as to the impact. Some of the vignettes were good, some were okay, some I just wanted over with. Pretty much every one with Thanos in it, save for one. You know the one. It's the only one where he's not being a snob.
Sure, Stark's a snob, and Strange is a snob, and Rocket's a snob, and Starlord's a snob, even Rogers can be a snob, but these are things that they overcome. For Thanos, it's his entire personality, and unlike our heroes it doesn't get in his way for one second. Not one.
And believe me, that isn't a spoiler. Thanos' personality has nothing to empathize with, though I feel like the movie wanted me to empathize with him, to sympathize with where he's coming from, but that never happened. He got out-villained by his own henchmen. I don't even think Thanos was a villain. Thanos was a plot-point.
It did not help that I already pretty much knew what happened at the end, though if I wasn't already looking for the hook to a movie that I'm just about to see I might've been upset. End Of The Second Matrix Movie upset, but except for the last five minutes, even Matrix Reloaded finished its story.
All in all, Infinity War was a decent, but not outstanding, couple of events strung together under one umbrella. If I wasn't ga-ga over it, it's because they missed the beats that would've put more impact on the story, and I'm left feeling nonplussed.

This makes you a nerd.
And you know what he would say about that.

Wait, doesn't Spider Man die in Infinity War? I haven't seen it.
***=THAR BE SPOILERS***
click to showIt was a half a joke that the existence of a new SpiderMan movie spoils Infinity War.

Dude, Unikitty is awesome.
You have yet to steer me wrong. Except that once.

RE: Meg and Pikachu
What is that first movie, and how did it get a better animation budget than Sonic the Hedgehog?

Teen Titans Go!
Season One: All of the funny tropes you’d expect a show like this to cover. Fairly meta.
Season Two: Reaching further afield, less about superhero life and more about funny cartoon stuff, a bit more series relationship stuff. Very meta.
Season Three: Writers seem to be fumbling for things to cover, so it gets more meta. Five episodes of “stuck on a desert island” trope was good, but I think the writers were getting bored. Outrageously meta.
Season Four: So meta that it comes around again. The pinnacle of the evolution of the Chibi Starfire character.
Teen Titans Go! to the Movies: Apparently HBO has digital distribution rights on this right now, so I don’t know, but Movie Bob loved it so I’m looking forward to it.

ugh now I have an idea for a Lost who gets her Glamour juice by inciting angry fanboys and reaping their distress.
Stop encouraging me to finish new Changeling code, dammit.

“No plot but players made their own” describes almost every WoD Mush ever made, too.

We (Zoe and River, the newest admins on Serenity) have been following this discussion with great interest.
As a friendly warning: Don't take Soapbox too seriously. Listen and nod and stroke your chin, but if you give anyone here half a reason they will critique you to the ground if you so much as enjoy the same breakfast cereal as Inara's player.

RE: Game of Thrones
We could just put this entire thread behind a spoiler tag. This and "Good/New Movies".
