X-Men Game

@ghost As good a reason as that is for Wiccan and Speed, like I said they're Avengers. And if you want to say family, why allow Billy but ban his fiance who's arguably way more of an important relation than Quicksilver or Wanda? Besides, neither of them have been revealed as mutants yet. They're both still in that undefined category, even more since Marvel decided Wanda and Pietro weren't mutants anymore.
-
@scourge Right, that might be worth a definite conversation as well, but I put them on the list because they have the x-gene. I mean, Beast is/was/sometimes an Avenger, too, even if primarily an X-man. There's members of Excalibur on the list.
Splitting up Wiccan and Hulkling would definitely be a decision that would have to be made.

EDIT: I mean, there's only so many iconic LGBTQ characters in the comics, and I think it would be nice to give them a home.
Ummmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
When did we get a Q? What the fuck is that for?
-
@tempest A bunch of people I know list Q as Queer.
It's not my scene, personally, but I added it just in case someone would be like "OMG GHOST, WHAT ABOUT Q???" So I put Q on there.
LGBT and beyond. Whatevs. XD
-
Oh. Okay.
Just making sure that wasn't for like.
QUADRASEXUAL.
-
@ghost What I meant more was that while they might have an X-gene (something the comics really should clarify sometime), they've never actually be associated with the X-sphere. They're like Justice/Vance Astrovik. He's a mutant but never has been associated with the X-men. And while Beast has been on other teams, he's always primarily been known for the X-men. Same as Wolverine.

Idly, since Beast got brought up....
I dare you to find a more boring character.
I. Dare. You.

I love Beast, you're nuts.
-
@tempest Reed Richards.
Edit: Though in all seriousness, what's boring to one can be the most exciting to another. And really its all about what you do and how you do it when it comes to 'boring'.

@tempest Reed Richards.
Um. Excuse me. Sex with Reed Richards is basically like sex with a tentacle monster.
Boring?! How dare you.

Rick Jones.

@tempest
I mean...Caliban? Cypher (the girl one)? Nezhno/Gentle?
-
I just wanna play Wanda again on a game that isn't dead. ;.;

For like 90 percent of chars there really isnt a giant ton of stuff you just like absolutely have to at all times remember
I mean for Colossus the points are idk something like
- was a villain for a little while
- died to cure he legacy virus
- got brought back to life by aliens
- cut off a alien's arm
See... that's already what I'd consider a close to 'eyes glaze over' list when it comes to stuff you need to know, as well as excessive amounts of drama in a background as opposed to happening IC. Like, anything where you have to talk about mega world-shaking metaplots and having died already... I think that's too much.
I know people are going to split on this somewhat, and that's fine, but for me it's just not interesting to have a ton of that stuff messying up your BG, to the point where the stuff that happened off-grid is actually more dramatic than what will happen on. And yes, I realize there's biases that come from certain characters needing more of the continuity to be their coolest, most powerful selves... imo it's also more interesting NOT to start them that way, because it gives people room for growth.

That's actually a really good list.
I'd 10000000% bump Magik and Wanda to Iconic tier though, purely based on how sought after they are on MU. They're easily among the most popular female FCs.
Hope (edit oops) just needs to be removed from everything ever. She's a dumpster snowflake.
Yeah I'd put all the 'Summers children from future' in that category, although maybe you can make exceptions for Cable? I've said it elsewhere but I really don't see the need for every X-game to be the same story all revolving around the same single person every time.
Like, can we recognize that this is a MU, and that there's reason to create interesting story for everyone, rather than having one family of God-messiahs that everything revolves around?
-
Okay, another question!
Would characters like members of the Exiles be allowed? And if so, would their 'main' universe counterparts be allowed at the same time? Like Beast and Dark Beast? And how about characters like the time displaced original 5? -
@scourge If there really is a god, no.
-
@scourge I would say "no" to Exiles types but I would not be opposed to the original 5. They're the reason I got back into reading X-Men to be honest.

I think Cable and Rachel are fine. Both predate the full glut of such characters and have significant history and connections. Plus, Time Travel and Future Past storylines are just part and parcel of X-lore and allowances should probably be made that some people may enjoy that sort of RP.
But fuck a lot of Hope, I agree on that.

God, I really hate Gambit in all of his forms, but there's a part of me that wants to play him more as a bumbling, Inspector-Clouseau character than a too-cool-for-school-90s-slacker-fantasy.
-
I'm also interested in this, and would probably show up as X-23, Surge, or Mercury.
