My system sounds are all the way down to like 50% in my stream settings (versus 100% for my mic).
-
What are you using to broadcast with?
-
I tried adjusting things, but think I might just need a better microphone. It is weird, I tried testing things out by listening to my own stream and my voice was quite clear but apparently I sound as if I am in a water tank or something to everyone else.
@insomnia I am using Xsplit, which apparently does have weird issues with audio pickup. I will try other options before making another attempt because it is obviously not working.
-
@packrat I highly suggest OBS Studio, it's free and easy to use. Also Windows 10 can just be an asshole when it comes to sound, I'd also suggest a USB plug in for the mic as well.
-
@insomnia I will give it a go, thanks for the suggestions!
-
@packrat Sure, I've been doing it for a while, so if you have any questions, feel free to send me a DM.
Oh, another way Windows can be an asshole? Resetting everything back to default for no apparent reason. Or when you reboot. Or because the day ended in y. Once you do find a setting that works for you, I suggest taking screen shots until you get used to setting them back to how you like them.

I use Xsplit too, and I did have to nudge my system audio down to like 50% in Xsplit's settings, but after that it worked great. (OBS Studio is also great software, it's just that I really wanted Xsplit's built-in capability to show my video and also my Twitch chat stream on my game as I played.)
-
@roz I have two monitors so I am okay display wise, I can just shove an instance of the stream off to my right to see chat. The issue does seem to be getting proper audio so that people can hear me talk and thus stick around instead of leaving due to it being incoherent distant mumbling.
-
@roz Streamlabs OBS came out if alpha and is in beta now. And it does that, on the left or right side. It's OBS but with streamlabs, and overlay integration.
-
OBS is awesome. I've only dabbled in streaming and it made things super easy.
-
@insomnia Oh, cool!

Humble Bundle is having a sale on some specific games, not specifically bundles in this case.
I want to highlight The Long Dark, which is on sale for about $8 for the next 13 hours. This game is pretty great for people who like survival games but the devs just this past year also rolled out the first part of a pretty interesting and compelling story mode for the game that they are releasing in Episodes, but are so far not charging anything extra for those.
So its something I would recommend for those who like that kind of genre. The music is pretty decent too.

Into the Breach is worth the money, if you're into the random annoyance that is Faster Than Light.
I got bored of Kingdom Come: Deliverance within 2 hours. It's fucking painful after playing The Witcher III.

It's sitting in my wishlist to grab during a sale, and has prompted me to sink more hours into FTL to tide me over. Oh sweet, sweet scrap. You fickle mistress.
-
Into the Breach reminds me a lot of Dynasty Tactics, with the brutal consequences of FTL thrown into it. I've played it for more than a few hours, and it gets incredibly frustrating at times.
-
@ganymede That you even know what Dynasty Tactics is makes me happy.
I'll play just about anything 'Tactics' even though so many are bad.
-
Oh god oh god oh god why do Battletech and Frostpunk have to come out on the same day.
-
@thenomain I already pre-ordered BattleTech. :X
-
@thenomain Because games typically come out on Tuesday or Friday.

THIS IS NOT THE ANSWER MY WALLET WANTED TO HEAR!
