In the beginning of the evening: "You know, I really miss playing a vampire; I'm going to read through the V20 books and splats and think about a character."
By the end of the evening: "Fuck that, Hilda is so awesome, no, I want a fucking changeling or mage or something I don't know, fuck, there needs to be a system for this universe."
-
@ganymede NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Now I want a Hilda game! That would make an amazing setting.
Edit:To clarify.
-
When that first scene on an alt shifts your entire view about on what you thought they'd be and it makes you want to play them more.
fingers crossed said shift is okay
-
@silverfox (said shift has just been approved XD )
-
@Botulism had me in giggle-tears at one point.
-
Watching plot and story and scenes you helped create spread through the game via journals and messengers and events. That's cool as fuck.
-
I ran the first event on my game last night, for the first plot that's tangentially related to the metaplot that will probably start rolling come next weekend.
I finally broke the ten player barrier, and had people show up. I haven't run events in a long time, as I'm far more used to DMing than GMing, but everyone seemed to love what I put out, even if it was nothing more than a dispute at the gates of the city.
It's rewarding to be able to finally tell stories that I've wanted to tell and people being really interested and already asking questions to meet with NPCs related to said plots.
No, I don't have a lot people playing. But that's okay. I've worked pretty hard on this theme over the course of a year and people generally seem interested in being apart of it. There's a lot of personal reward in others enjoying it. And I enjoy making stories for them.
-
I decided to play a bit of my game to relax since I'm epicly stressed, likely not the best of ideas but I can't really think of anything else and I'm sick of chasing my tail. I've been studiously avoiding running into other people, though, so I felt like that could work out well.
Enter unintended antagonistic RP aimed my way. Immediately I panic. Cue up delete. Cue up self-destruct. Realize I'm being fucking stupid and interact as my PC would.
End up getting unexpectedly hilarious RP that makes me glad I didn't just give in to whatever gremlins are eating my brain right now and the fallout of which has given me new options for RP when I've evicted said gremlins. (Saturday. They move Saturday, whether they like it or not.)
Thank you, MU* people, for being unpredictable and insane in just the right way at just the right times.
-
Comedy is hard to RP but when everyone clicks with a vibe in a certain way MU comedy is great.
-
When you have a chance to pursue a tense, dramatic plot and even if there are bumps along the way, the MAIN THING happens and it's beautiful and painful in the right way. When people are willing to let their characters be vulnerable and hurt and hurt each other without it being an OOC thing, and it's just great fun.
-
Running the first real event of my game's metaplot and a bunch of people showed and it was a great time, even if it was a lot of lore-dumping on players so they have all sorts of threads and bit to chase down for proceeding plots to run.
However, playing about five different NPCs for four hours will definitely take a mental taxing on you after awhile. Still, I'm happy everyone enjoyed it.

One of my players messaged me privately today to thank me for being a good org leader and setting them up with a bunch of stuff and now I am all mushy and full of feels.

Hello, I am new player! You are good org leader, set me up with bunch of stuff.
Come play in my org and I will set you up with RP connections to plots, equipment, and cash.

I really should log in long enough to return the investment funds my PC was given.

I don't know if there's a MU memes thread, but my fortune cookie today is eerily accurate advice.
