Smidge of background to this anger/irritation:
Had a breakdown at work a while ago. Crying. "Quitting". It was a big deal. Been jokingly calling it my Quarter Life Crisis. Scared myself, so I've been looking for a good psychologist, and am now medicated, etc.Since then, it's kind of like the bakery I work at has been trying to phase me out? Can't really say I blame them after The Fiasco, but I'm the best cake decorator they have (said by others, not just me).
So today I'm told they hired too many people in the department, so I'll probably have to get most of the 20 hours a week I need, as a cashier =/
My job is already soul crushing, but at least sometimes I get to do fun things...so...cashier...seriously? Fuck.
And I'm really starting to hate Etsy, but not sure where else to sell my artwork. Buh.
On top of the day job bullshit, I've been looking for a new job for months. JUST found out that Verizon apparently redid their voicemail system over the summer, and I havent had voicemail set up since =/
If I hear one more family member say "oh yeah, I haven't been able to leave a message for months, I thought you just wanted it that way", I'm going to fucking lose it, and move to Iceland.
Why the hell would I not want my voicemail set up? Killing me. Could have missed jobs because of that. I should apparently call my own cell phone from time to time.
Killing me.Fuck humanity. People suck.
puts her soapbox away for now

One of the things I have to ask when someone calls in and says they can't access their voicemail is how long they have had the issue. I have to ask this or I fail because a 90% is a pass, and I hate having to do it because how the hell do people know how long it's not been working until someone says "Hey, are you ignoring me or something?"
I feel your pain about the voicemail though.

@thebird
OMG the voice mailbox thing. I had that happen to me this summer.
I found out rather quickly cause my mom showed up worried since she could not get in touch with me for a couple of weeks and being paranoid thought something had happened. -
The only people who leave me voicemail is people I don't know. I refuse to check it and consider it an annoyance. Maybe I'm one of the few.
-
Nothing irks me quite like when drivers refuse to yield the right of way to pedestrians in crosswalks. It's a special combination of rude and dangerous.
-
See, you're right of course, but it also depends on your PoV.
Example: I'm a bicycle rider and I'm often really annoyed by how some people drive as I don't cherish being ran over. But on the other hand I've seen cyclists go over sidewalks and turn left on intersections without even checking (at night! without lights! no shits given!) which makes me cringe.
Idiots are idiotic, news at 11.

That's not dependent on a point of view.
Shitty drivers are shitty, shitty cyclists are also shitty.
Breaking news: shitty pedestrians are shitty, too!
-
Yeah, given that I've had to slam on my brakes more than once for an idiot pedestrian that thought running across the intersection through a 3 second gap in traffic was a good idea. Same goes for cyclists. And cars! The accidents I've seen on the side of the highway because some moron thought he could squeeze his F350 between two cars with just enough space between them for a Honda Accord.... its just ridiculous.

Time Warner. So much anger. So much.

In the city I live in, drivers and cyclists more or less kind of hate each other. This is a lot of cities. But. Anyway. The city here on some problematic streets installed bike lanes. It took a lot of money and 3x the projected time to finish. This is a lot of cities.
It was done in order to give drivers a line and cyclists a lane with a median between that would keep one out of the path of the other and also prevent cyclists from getting doored by removing most of the street parking. Mostly, its been an expensive eyesore. Drivers avoid the street now because the traffic flow is all effed and the timing of the lights, which also has to account for light rail, is super effed. And you have enough cyclists who refuse to use the cyclist lane to make a point about their right to the road.
I am mostly in awe of people who try to cycle in this city because its so dangerous. The whole thought makes me squeamish but I do get irrationally angry at the cyclists who fling themselves into commute traffic to make a point about their right to be there. I totally support your right to be there when you're not blocking traffic and potentially causing accidents to make your point, dude.
This happens about once a week, like today. I hate this city sometimes.
-
Here, assholes with giant SUVs and trucks will just use the bike lane as extra space.
Please don't bike much in Texas if you can help it.

It should not be pushing 80 degrees in November in the mid Atlantic.

I fucking hate the morning fog up here.

@Thenomain Maybe I could enjoy it if my office didn't have the heat on by time of year.

Smoke breaks. Even if you don't smoke.
