Yes. They couldn't even fix that bug.

On Cora Harper:
BioWare / EA needs to get better, smarter writers. This was a storyline that just failed from top to bottom. Why? Because it failed to incorporate themes evident in the first trilogy.
One question nagged me: why would the Asari ever allow a human to run with their elite commandos? The only answer I could think of: they wouldn't have.
Asari are assimilative, but, cruelly, extremely prejudicial and seemingly arbitrary. They understand prejudice because they must assimilate all races; yet they are ironic because they marginalize "pure" Asari and those they consider to be "dangerous" aberrations. They also enforce their traditions harshly, as evidenced by Samara.
So why? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me. The entire idea of it was jarring.
So, I figure: maybe Cora had a shit time of it. But, no: she apparently was a liked-and-well-respected member, even if she was removed from the order eventually. And she never gets into why, really, but I suppose you're just supposed to believe that it's because she's a beta, not an alpha.
I felt like the writers missed an entire angle that would have made the character deeper and richer. Of all the races, the Asari are the most interesting to me (if only because I adored Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness as a kid). Yet they do the least with them, whereas they can obviously create richness with other aliens, like the Krogan. (Drack is, by the way, the best.)
sigh

@Ganymede I could've bought it happening if it took place during the original trilogy, but it was specifically stated that she joined during a time were bioics weren't really understood. So, that's likely a handful of years past the First Contact War. And that's the sticking point with me. Why, would the Asari, suddenly out of the graciousness of their hearts, take in a human, a member of a race that's still more or less an unknown at that point.
-
@Monogram I mean.
She could be lying. -

I know. I mean, maybe if they wanted to fuck her a lot. Which I could understand. I could also see Asari wanting to pair up with Jack to see what sort of super-biotics they could breed, but again: angle missed.
I expect you to be there when I get this fucking game done.
-
Suppose she could've gotten her way bought in if she's really the Illusive Man's daughter. But that's a stretch at best. And that's saying that rumor is even true.
-
Whoever started that theory is a fucking idiot.
-
@Ganymede It's only because both of their last names are Harper. That's really it. I doubt it's real too, but you yourself just said the writing at points were...questionable. I wouldn't put it past the writers to throw that in because it's such a 'great idea'.

Conceded.
Would be nice if Lexi finally just asked Drack out or something.

It would have been nice if they closed any storyline, really. It's hard to tell how much was laziness, how much was being rushed, and how much was being saved for the sequel. I mean, you have one mysterious disappeared race and you have another race with similar ideals but opposite in application. How can you miss the opportunity to mess with the player's mind about this?
Ffffft.

Eh, there's already speculation that the Protheans and the Remnant are somehow related to each other. Or at the very least, were aware of each other.
I don't buy any of it at all, but, at least people are talking?
-
Protheans? No. Let's not be silly. Remnant and Kett.
-
There's a bunch of speculation. About everything.
There's a reason I don't join 'fandom' discussions. People are dumb.
-
@Thenomain Oh, I've read quite some conspiracy theories on it so far.
-
I read another speculation that Vetra's father was Saren. What she says about her father's history does match Saren's. Much like a horoscope fits the reader.
-
@TNP I've heard that one too. But I sort that one into the same space that's occupied with Cora being the Illusive Man's daughter.
