A new game?
-
Okay. Advertisements seems a good spot for this.. I am looking for some new place to play on. I, generally, prefer Lords and LAdies and Fantasy stuff but I am open to whatever.
I am not hugely into WoD things so the 1 or 2 I am on is enough for me.
I have no specific tastes beyond that. Be prepared for dumb questions if it is a system or theme that is new to me.
-
Not really answering your question, but I am curious about what Lords and Ladies games are currently out there...
-
Welll, there's Blood of Dragons but we know what's wrong with that.
Game of Bones is actually an okay game if you can find people who are active. It is small and intimate and sometimes that playerbase attracts people.
If you want to play angel/human hybrids who chain each other and then shove sticks up their urethras, you can play at Kushiel's Debut.

OMG why did no one tell me this was what that place was about!!! <rushes off to app immediately>

Every time I find a new game that is cool, I /want/ to talk about it here... but then I see a post by @BigDaddyAmin and I decide it's probably better to keep it to myself rather than expose it to some of the elements on this forum.
-
@Lithium What new game? I wanna know! Screw what others think! If I enjoy it I enjoy it!
-
@GirlCalledBlu Nothing good.
-
I in general just take what is said here in account (Especially when it is said by @BigDaddyAmin since pretty much everything seems to be horri-bad to him) then decide what I think. So, suggest away!

@icanbeyourmuse
@icanbeyourmuseI don't think everything is bad. I think volpe's Game of Thrones game is pretty great and I wish it would get more attention. I just don't care for the time period that it is in, that's all. I'd totally play a Westeros game that isn't set in Oldtown or King's Landing. Maybe one that was focused on local area politics (say a middle-sized house in the Westerlands or something). If you want to collaborate on something of that nature, I can be of some assistance.
Oh, Jeebus. Come on. Surely I don't have that much bully power.
-
@BigDaddyAmin You're not a bully. You're just a toxic element I wouldn't want on any game I play on.
Don't take it personal, you're not the only one I feel that way about.
Different strokes for different folks and all, and your personality here? Not gonna mesh with mine which makes for less than fun pretendy funtimes.
As a side note: It's also why I haven't tried looking for staff on my game here, there are quite a few I would gladly have as staff on my game if they were interested in such, but I am not comfortable putting the particular idea and build up for further review after responses here on this forum I've had to game ideas.

You know what this forum needs? A fucking mirror...

I look at a machine when I'm reading this forum. What's your point?

Way to demonstrate your autism there, champ.

Back to topic.
Kushiels Debut has been mentioned already, but I play there. Yes, it has lots of sex, which should be unsurprising considering the source material. If you like a sexually open theme, this is about as good as it gets without hitting Shang levels. Story can be slow, though, and depending on who you ask, closed off to people not in 'the group.' /However/ I haven't had any trouble making my own fun, using the tools I have to do my own stuff. The game is also crunchier than many L&L games, so if you want actual representation of how many troops you can field for an invasion rather than handwaving it completely, they cover that.
The other one I play is Arx, which is in alpha. It's being run by some former Firan peeps who also frequent these boards. It is definitely on the crunchy end, keeping track of troop numbers, organization stats, money, etc. It also looks like it will be story heavy too, with planned out 'tv seasons.' It has a well-done roster , but you are free to CG characters too.

I have never been on a game where there wasn't a lot of sex, or where people weren't more or less openly rolling characters whose main goal was to find a romantic/TS partner, or pairs weren't locked up in private rooms forever.
I think the narrative about 'sex games' is fundamentally flawed. Yes, on a game like KD there are going to be fewer plots about say... killing things (although there are still some) than a Werewolf game, but there'd be just as much of a focus on politics as anything involving the Kindred. All they are doing is making it more public that it's the theme's focus as opposed to horror or whatever.
-
@Ominous I am already on Kushiel's Debut. Now, I wonder who you are. I am a little indecisive on Arx. I like @Apos and @Kanye-Qwest but I am unfamiliar with the system they are using.
-
@icanbeyourmuse Do you mean the codebase they are using or the dice resolution?
-
@Ominous Codebase. I already forget what their code system stuff is. I rarely think about those.
-
@icanbeyourmuse Evennia. It's new and uses Python to integrate the website with the server. Changes on the server update the character pages, so no more wiki updating. You can also play on the server directly on the website. They have codes many of the commands to use known Penn and MUX commands.
-
@Ominous I saw. I am just uncertain on it still. I am always hesitant on trying a new codebase thing because I tend to have dumb questions.
