Way way way back in the day on Dark Metal, I was playing a City Gangrel and there was this guy checking me out I knew to be Camarilla and a Toreador. He apparently hadn't heard I was Sabbat. So my character (Cuz this was dark metal) had a manipulation of 1, she was very, very, blunt. She walks up to the guy and goes with the /stupidest/ pick up line I could think of:

Nice shoes. Wanna fuck?

The guy of course says yes and we head off to a private place... and I proceeded to go from 13th generation to 12th! Good night.

Finally getting a job back in my field of expertise, and it is work from home, so happy right now I could die. Will probably even be online more now. Yay me! Yay for my projects!

I personally love automated chargens, automation that can get people playing and empower them to spend resources (Money or xp) within the game system is imho, key to just getting the game on.

Every time Staff /must/ get involved, it's slowing things down and a barrier for RP.

So I have been on a kick lately of coding chargens that don't need staff at all, the options allow only for legal characters to be made. It frees up staff for things like... running plot, theme and setting support, etc.

Simple rules:

1. Give me something I can respond to. That way the scene is collaborative and moves forwards.

2. Don't make me wait so long I either fall asleep, get bored, or lose interest after I waited a half an hour for a 1-2 line pose.

Fuck that noise.

There's such a thing as to much purple prose. Length of pose !=quality of pose.

@Arkandel By the same token, there is nothing /wrong/ with a staffer saying: This is the theme of the game. It is what the game is built for and towards. That isn't going to change because someone or even a few someone's don't like it.

By creating characters that break the theme, they are actively trying to rebel against what the game is all about, that, in my mind, can make a person a problem player because it breaks the immersion for the people who /do/ like the theme, and play on the game for the theme, or rules, etc.

There is no such thing as a perfect game, and this is something players, and staffers need to realize. I agree with your points about leaving if it's not something you like, but trying to smash up the decorations on your way out?

That's just messed up.

I (and others) have said that it's not written very well, nor have we said it's an issue /just/ part of the 'gaming' culture (Though it does pervade it at some level), it affects all cultures, all people, in a variety of different ways (except possibly Aboriginal people who still follow traditional ways without influence of the modern world, of which, I think there is /one/ tribe that we know about, on an island off of Africa that hasn't been influenced by modern culture because they /kill/ everyone who lands or comes close to their island).

Certainly, some cultures are worse than others when it comes to the treatment of women, but it does exist.

@Ghost I want to point out, that Jean approached me, ICly, and OOCly, about being more flirtatious in another scene. She and I are /friends/ OOCly, and that the storyline is supported if the other previous scenes of those characters are ready before hand.

Taken out of context, yes, it could look that way for sure, but, considering the (former) player of Jean (who left due to this nonsense, amongst other issues but not my place to say, that is hers), and I communicate regularly on discord and I am certain would speak up to me if something was wrong, and asked me to play Warren there...

Perhaps not all is as it seems.

Considering that I have been labeled with some highly gross and predatory behavior, of course I react negatively to such accusations.

If you are going to quote a log, then and try to use it out of context to support these accusations then there is nothing I, nor anyone else, can say to make you believe I am not what I am being accused of.

There are plenty of logs of my RP with Warren that do not conform to any such predatory behavior.

@GreenFlashlight If this is true, then I wish people would have informed me because nobody ever told me I was behaving in any way that made anyone uncomfortable. I've had quite a few scenes with a lot of people, and was not aware of anyone responding negatively to my RP with any of my characters.

I don't know who these '4 people' are on discord, I don't know what happened, in what situations, because it has never been brought to my attention. I cannot address situations I have not been told about, and am /always/ willing to work with people, adjust scenes, and RP, to make sure people are as comfortable as can be in RP of whatever nature.

To me, these claims are completely out of left field, and inconsistent with any information that I had prior. I don't know what I need to do to 'repair' my relationship with the community. I don't even know what I did that was wrong other than pursuing a pre-arranged storyline with Jeans player for our characters that is now being used against me.

There is no way to win here, I say I didn't do these things, others come up with unsupported accounts that I can't possibly defend against.

Even to the point that when others say I didn't do these things, they get attacked for saying I didn't do these things.

So, I am truly sorry that anyone felt they couldn't speak with me about any behavior or RP that was causing any issues. I am sorry that by obeying a do not contact from ZG about Macha's character is somehow gaslighting people. I don't really know what else to say except this, all of this, to me seems like an attack against me as a person and my character which I was not prepared for as it occurred without warning and was a sudden nuclear attack against me.

For whatever that is worth, that is the truth as I know it.

@tek At this point, I don't care about looking 'good'. I care about waking up, and logging on to find I had been banned without warning, and my characters given away already, and then finding out I am accused of gaslighting people, accused of being DWOPP of all things, and that playing a character as they're presented in a year 1 situation moderately accurately is somehow bannable behavior.

I requested staff involvement to a potential problem with a player being weird and aggressive OOCly to me, was told it was handled, and was asked to not respond if a different player contacted me so I didn't respond to that player. I RP'd with everyone, didn't gaslight anyone, and was promoting RP.

The idea that I would just lay down and take it for no good reason is laughable. I don't even know why I was caught in the backlash of someone else having a meltdown.

But honestly, having my IP supposedly 'linked' to DWOPP? I don't care how it looks, I'm /not/ that person, and to suggest it is insulting. Especially along with all the other baseless accusations.

@ZombieGenesis One, I am not DWOPP, and two, what problematic behavior was I banned for, without warning, three, thanks for the heads up and the conversation about any problematic behavior. (ETA: This is sarcasm, obvs, but just in case you think I was gaslighting someone? No clue how I was gaslighting anyone btw)

@Runescryer Warren Worthington, aka Angel, has money. He backed many teams in the comics, and bankrolled many things. I didn't pay for anyones college tuition, I bought a dress for someone, let someone borrow a car, and was founding a comics team, like he had done many times in the comic books. Playing a wealthy character doesn't make someone DWOPP and thems fightin' words.

That moment when you are worried you are losing a character in your head, and then they just click back into place and make them fun again.

I hate it when I lose grasp on a character, but you can't have 'ups' without 'downs' and this is a great 'up' for me.

@skew On a game I am playing, they allow macro's but there needs to be a 1 second delay in between the commands entered. While it is an old rule, and likely has no real bearing on the current day as the rule was written when there were hundreds of people there, I still want to follow it.

So I set a trigger where I do something, and it runs the macro (mainly a gear swap between flying and ground fighting gear and trading gear). I would like to put the 1 second pauses in just to be compliant.

Anyone know how to put a delay into a macro in Potato?

@ganymede Late to the conversation, for better or worse, if you remove the effects of social stats on PC's (Which I am neither four or against, personally), then you need to reduce the cost of them. Right now they are the same cost as punching someone in the face.

Punching someone in the face always works or not based on the roll.

Social stats in your game would not, so need to be less expensive comparatively.
