I was 18 then and it was long before I had any ideas toward setting up my own game, but still good to know! I've only ever set up TinyMUX and Rhost. No disrespect for PennMUSH; I staffed on a Penn game for quite a while and it seemed to be as good (and better in some respects) as anything else out there.

I wasn't offended or anything of the like. Just amused at the expression. I believe it even came from TinyMUSH code re: SQL and its implementation.

Quirky timeouts? I presume that means you're using async SQL for TinyMUX?
