Since the advertisement thread is getting hammered, moving its posts here.

Could also use some new blood in Deckers / Street Sams / Faces. Pretty much chock full 'o magicians these days though.
-
@Finn Otaku and/or NuMatrix, or bust.
-
@Jennkryst Ok
-
Boop.
-
I'm interested, though my past attempts at Shadowrun I've always bounced off.

...deckers, you say?
-
Me: Shadowrun
You: Pooping on my posts about Shadowrun.Ok. I get it. Please discontinue and refrain.

@saturna Absolutely, we have a uber powered one, and maybe one or two active on occasion. The game playerbase leans more towards magic, but I'm more of a black trench-crime GM in the traditional cyberpunk vein if you're interested hit me up I'm Finn on staff as well.
-
@Kaedric Honestly, 3rd Ed is quite crunchy, but I say give it go. The game overall leans towards self-starter player plots, but if you're looking for solid RP as well as larger meta narrative events it's there as well.
-
@Jennkryst My offer remains open as I am yet still CoS, if you want an Otaku to be a weird decking teenager that's cool and I can arrange for it. Otaku got put on that list because people were using them to make samurai.
-
@Lupo001 You forget I was staff there before Mirage soft-banned them for two years (insisting nobody else even touch a matrix-related character app), and then officially banned them by changing the documentation.
I personally only ever saw three Otaku in my 5-ish years being active there. Even if they all became samurai (two of them quit shortly after apping because they couldn't advance matrix-ly), there should be no problem at all with them doing so, given the nature of SR3 and how archetypes blend together.
I forget the character's name, but the all-deltaware fullborg? Started out as a Decker. Not Otaku. Should you ban all Deckers because of this? Mages break theme and get all the Geas'd cybernetics, best ban them, too!
-
@Jennkryst Yes. Ban mages. And shamans. And all magical things.
-
@Admiral I see banning Mages is a universal principle.
-
@Lupo001 Thank you for offering solution, I look forward to seeing y'all on grid if this was the unresolved complaint (before my time).
-
@Jennkryst No, don't worry I haven't forgotten but it would still be nice to see you back if you wanted to. Still, it's unlikely there'll be a major matrix overhaul any time soon.
-
I tried it once, long ago. I remember they didn't want to allow a character made by the chargen rules they had in place at the time for being too competent.
I always thought that was weird. If you weren't good at something, you would both not get work in the shadows and not live very long in them either.

I can’t be an otaku?
Otaku (おたく/オタク) is a Japanese term for people with obsessive interests, particularly in anime and manga.
Well...darn?

Otaku was the SR2/3 term for what would become Technomancers, in SR4/5

So we can blame Tom Dowd? Because...that's not even a little bit of a stretch for me.
