@wizz Sorry. It is my dark magics.
-
@wizz Its okay. For the first DAY I didn't get the line either. Then it just APPEARED and the format changed and I went 'ohhhhhhhhh, so THAT is the line...'
-
LINE BAD
-
Line good.
It helps me to see which posts I'm highlighting for moving or deletion.
That said, NO I HAVE NOT BEEN DELETING ANY POSTS.
That's one of the problems we're having which we need to find a fix for.
Please see other thread for Forum Wonk.

I want the line between posts back.
-
Yeah, they got rid of an important line and added a mostly useless line.
-
It's just too similar in form and function to the quoted-content line, which is making me think that everything is a quote.
-
-
@ganymede Completely unrelated .... good kitty.

-
Sigs kinda make it better, at least on phones!

I don't check MSB as often as I used to when I don't have something specific to post any more. I just realized it was down. I troubleshot and brought up the service, but this is getting worse over time.
Not much to do about it than run the forum with a different configuration or on a different platform.

Do the admins want to set up a non-MSB line of communication for issues in the future and/or updates if and when it finally dies? Like a discord or something?

Well, there's that, too. I was more thinking about -- a game opened yesterday and an ad for it didn't get posted until just now because MSB was down and we weren't really sure where else a good central repository might be other than like mudconnector.
If MSB bites the bullet and isn't coming back up might be a good idea to have a place to go so that can be seen, somewhere. For all people gripe about this place sometimes it's still pretty much the only place I learn about new games and read reviews and whatnot, so if that resource goes dark forever it might be good to have an alternate line of communication to the people who can make those calls, for purposes of checking in or whatever.
-
Folks, just to be clear I can't answer your questions. I'm only maintaining MSB from a technical standpoint (to the poor extent that I am) because no one else can take on the task fully.
I agree with @Derp though. The community needs it, or something very much like it. So the community should support that which it needs.

Having a discord for a message forum seems oddly redundant. Seems like that would just drive a lot of community discussions off the forum.
There are also the Ares forum and Evennia Discussions in the community. I can't speak for the Evennia folks but MSB crew is welcome to post downtime announcements, etc. on the Ares forum.

Well, given that the idea was 'we have no way to communicate with the Gods of MSB outside of MSB itself if something goes wrong with MSB', the redunancy part was intentional. The idea is to have some other line of communication.
Ares forums might be a good call.
