Warhammer 40k?
-
Sorry if this isn't the correct board to put this on, but is there any Warhammer 40k MUs out there? Personally I love the Only War tabletop system the most as it focuses on the ground grunts more than the spesh marines and think it would work well on a MU setting since it's more about day-to-day living in the military (similar to Battlestar Pacificia if anyone remembers that Mu*) If there isn't any warhammer games out there would there be enough interest in one in the community for someone to develop one?

I'd be interested. I've always loved 40k, and the Only War set-up is pretty awesome. It'd make a cool alternate version for the meatgrinder that was TGG.
-
I see your 40k, and raise you Iron Kingdoms!
-
40K, I'd not mind some of that. But only to play, not to make.

Now that is a concept I'd adore.

Sounds fun to me But yeah I lack time to make games.
-
I could "manage" the game, I just don't know how to code nor have the funds to host the wiki/game itself
-
Once upon a time I figured out how to make a dice roller, this system only uses D10s so that's dead easy. One of these days I'll figure out how to make a cgen.

I'm not a great or fantastic coder by any means. Thenomain usually makes fun of me for it. Cobalt too, come to think of it. I think even Glitch. Anyway, I'd be willing to admin at a place like that and occasionally do small orders. I think the TGG code is still lying about a bit, and a lot of that would just be adjusting stats for data entry, though it wouldn't be the actual Only War ruleset -- it'd be some amalgam of Only War, the setting, but with TGG code.
-
Again I would have no idea how to actually start up a game, nor code it, but once it was up and running I'd be willing to handle the day-to-day management of it

There have been a few attempts at 40K games over the last ten years.. They have all fizzled out.
It's a rich theme, and lots of ways you can go about doing it.
Tau all the way here, just saying
I'd love to see a 40K game go up and stay up. Lots of potential. I'd be up for helping.

I happened to see a 40K game listed in the mushcode.com list (looks like they're very new and still putting everything together, which is totally fine):

riseofheroes.custom-gaming.net 1906Actually the more I'm poking around on this thing it doesn't look like some where I'd personally want to play, can't find what ruleset they're using, the rules make me laugh a little which is both interesting and off-putting and I'm not sure I like the way the CG seems to be handled as written in the 'primer'

@magee101 For those of us that don't want to wade in the cesspool, what's got you antsy at the rules?
-
An adult game that does not allow TS: "Sexual activities are not appropriate here, even in private. While it may occur, and most likely does, we would ask such things to be kept off screen. We won't snoop, but don't let us find out. Note that having hanky panky with the enemy will probably end up in execution no matter WHO you work for. "
The overall grammar feels like it is written by a highschooler, rule 10 is : "There is no rule ten."
They have a "Consent only" policy which means if you are uncomfortable at any point you can just disappear from the scene and have it retconned, but then attempt to say it is an ICA=ICC game (which we all know, if you have a full Consent policy is almost impossible to do ICA=ICC. At best you have to have a partial consent policy with the fiat of FTB any RP you don't want to do but still have to worry about the consequences.)

Oh, lovely...

Aye! Stinks a wee bit it does. I can't say anything definite about the game as I haven't found anyone to talk to on it yet but it raises a few red flags. I'd still love to see about getting an Only War thing going, might decide to GM one over roll20 at some point.
