Places to RP
-
Anyone know of any good places to RP that are more forum based/slower than a MU*?
Do such things even still exist?
No time to sit around a MU* but need some kind of occasional creative outlet besides drawing...

Try looking around here: http://rpg-directory.com/

I'm still looking at 'play-by-wiki' options for a project, but it's a ways out (and I'm more or less on break from dev work). It'll be a MUX, but that option will be there, in part for exactly the 'RL doesn't let me get online often lately' reasons (also finishing paused stuff, plot followups people would prefer to RP through rather than just put in a job, etc. etc. etc.).

Why are you spending time posting! WORK ON IT, WOMAN. >.>
(I am looking forward to seeing your ideas come to fruition. A lot.)

@Sunny I actually took a teensy tiny bit of time to try to RP. Be shocked. Also had art shows all over the place this past month. I'm back to the grindstone with it this week, though!
-
You say this as if I care about anything but wanting to play on your game RIGHT NOW.
(Hooray, art shows! I hope they went well.)
-
@Sunny There will be <semi-sekrit theme>, there will.

@thebird: Have you tried the RP communities on Dreamwidth? There's a lot of play-by-post forum based rp there. I can provide some links if you want.
-
I have not! Links are good =D
I didn't even really know where to start looking, so figured I'd ask here first.

@thebird
My advice? If you have a genre you want, google "the genre here" dreamwidth RP, or "the genre here" tumblr ad. There are tons of dreamwidth RP (it's where a lot of people when when greatestjournal went down, along with insanejournal). Both of those are big into text-based RP. -
@thebird I'd suggest starting with Baker Street. It's an RP Meme community and a good way to get started. There are story based communities as well. Be advised a lot of the memes on Baker Street have a sexual or romantic element to them, but plenty of them don't. Also, Dreamwidth RP tends to focus on "feature characters" from media and pop culture, rather than original creations, though those are out there too. Good luck!
