As for your neighbors, that sucks!! I just told a friend of mine to quit calling the cops when his neighbors are yelling at each other in their yard. They're white trash and they'll retaliate.

I just saw a comedy like that but the neighbors in that movie were collage dudes, still, you could have a movie in the making right there .

Then when it's all over and the rest of you are ready for Dead Animal Pickup, I'm gonna go balls deep into Dahl. But only because she asked me to. Sweet-like. - Riddick (2013)

Those people who talk at their cell phone, holding it in front of their face, and then returning it to their ear to listen to the other person. I don't know why some people do this, but it's irritating. Especially when you're trying to take their cake order... rude anyway, talking on a cell phone. At least don't be weird about it...?

That sucks. I've done prozac, celexa, and paxil. Paxil was the worst, especially coming off of it. Have you tried any SNRIs? I've been having really good success with cymbalta.

Paxil fucks you up when you stop taking it.

@sponge @coin I've heard that. Celexa made me so sick I almost got an ambulance called on me. 😞
I may try an SNRI if prozac doesn't do well for me.

What I found with SSRIs is that they just made my emotional spectrum more narrow. When I was down I was rarely crushingly down. When I was up... well, I was never really up. It was like they made a drug to turn down the volume on feelings. Makes sense for surviving bipolar, but I never experienced mania.

The SNRI has kept the emotional range about the same as being unmedicated but seems to have raised the floor. Or maybe the emotional ceiling is the same as being unmedicated and floor has just been raised.

Your mileage is guaranteed to vary.

This, compounded with people who don't understand how someone who goes up-and-down a lot feels internally, is what makes so many people push meds on others, when sometimes oher approaches may work.

That's not to say I disagree with medicating; I was medicated and sometimes I wonder if it wouldn't be good to go back to it. But other people's emotional comfort levels seem to mellow out when you're just an emotionally narrow husk of your former self, for some reason. /eyeroll.

Vicodin makes me feel awesome and normal. Ultram makes me feel okay and normal with numbness.

I don't take either except for extreme pain though. Because addictive substances are addictive.

We'll see how it goes and what I can get cheap or free. For now, I've just been sick as a dog switching from Zoloft to prozac. At least I'm not as bad off as with the citralopram.

Fire alarm tests omg. I know they're necessary, but I wish there was some sort of 'quiet' mode that could indicate they're working without me having to listen to it go off a million times. SO LOUD.

Every other time I read discussion threads about books I liked and encounter people who seem unable/unwilling to spell or use even basic grammar correctly. These people are supposed to be bibliophiles by definition, what the hell? Why is the content indistinguishable from a random WoW thread's? Argh.

There's nothing quite like a grammatical failure in a post complaining about others' grammar, is there?

Wow. So if I understand this correctly, Steam really screwed mod creators badly this week. Evidently what happened (I can't readily find a link) was that Steam decided to make player-made mods for games like Skyrim sellable this week.

A few things about it were not quite awesome.

                                      1. Their creators weren't asked because "there's no way to tell who's who".
                                      2. Their creators were not compensated.
                                      3. Their creators were sent takedown notices for the mods.

To paste from their boycott notice, the problem (in their own words):

Valve taking money from modders (75%!)
No system in place to stop stolen mods
No system in place to limit low-effort mods
                                      Overpriced "micro"transactions.
No guarantee that the mod will be patched if an update happens.
Modders lose rights to their mod after uploading.
24 hour return policy which does nothing to ensure that a mod is compatible. Errors may only become evident days after "purchase."
Not even a minimum guarantee of Quality Assurance. At least developer-produced DLC is expected to have gone through QA.

I am bothered by all this because Steam has some some great things, such as encourage Linux game development and offering games at insanely low prices. But stuff like this make me mutter rude things.

Actually "creators" get 25% of the profits from the mods. Some of the mods posted have been from people who have taken them off of Nexus and sold them, as their own, or made their own mod but used another one. And at least has been pulled down for stealing. Because there is completely a way to tell who is who because there is a large modding community, and coders usually stick in somewhere that they did a thing.

Other than that it's really buyer beware. There is no more guarantee that they will work on Nexus when they are free than they will on Steam. Sure people are going to put their mods up for unreasonably high prices because they feel 25% isn't fair... and when people don't buy them the prices will come down.

The Major points for why this is a BAD THING, so far as I can see are as follows:

                                        • It's causing people who don't want to make money from their mods removing them for free as well so people don't take them and use them.
                                        • Because some of the modders are game devs and can't actually sell anything because of non compete contracts.
                                        • One of the biggest mods that everyone else uses in their mods hasn't been updated in 2 years, and has removed permission from people to use it and sell it in their own mods. When it was free he used to take donations, but now that it get be put up for a price other people can't use it!
                                        • But with a donation system you got ALL the money, not 25%!
                                        • Some modders don't like money and even refuse donations, so no mods should be sold.

Next will be the inevitable, people posting the mods on torrent sites or something to protest or something.
