I haven't had a chance to really dig in yet, but every scene I've had—even the one where I completely blew my piloting quals—has been enjoyable so far. Everyone has been welcoming and fairly understanding as I try to catch up and settle in, despite having joined right as my RL work is exploding a little bit.

And I really do like Ares as a server in a lot of ways.

I've been playing around for a long time, and what @faraday has built -- I've said this before -- is exemplary. Almost visionary.

The auto-combat? Brilliant. You can pound out a complex combat scene in a few hours.

Seriously, I've attracted a couple of folks from WoD, and this game is a welcome breath of fresh air. And the playerbase is welcoming, wonderful, and a gem in our hobby. The best part is that it caters to my hours -- daytime, EST, business -- and it is bloody amazing how such a simple theme and setting can attract bright and brilliant RPers.

That said, I hope poor @faraday isn't swamped with work. But this seems to be her labor of love, and all I can do is profess how lovely it really is.

“It is better to live doing the things that you like. It is foolish to live within this dream of a world seeing unpleasantness and doing only things that you do not like.” -- Yamamoto Tsunetomo.

          Two things:

          1. We have had almost daily scenes lately. Both social and combat-oriented. The game is hoppin', folks. We've been trying to juggle times for both EST and PST schedules, at that. There's no real 'need' for any roles, either, so please feel free to play whatever suits your fancy! The roster has 19 chars on it right now, many of which have never been played: super easy to jump right in.

          2. Faraday has added this absolutely amazing scene code. Well, she's enhanced it. This shit generates a log that posts to the wiki for you. I tried it out for the first time today and it's just amazing. While you're in the 'scene' (http://mush.aresmush.com:8081/help/scenes/index) you just set the parameters (scene/title, /summary, /type) and once the scene is over... wiki/log scene# and boom, it posts, complete with the wiki icons and everyone already tagged. No other effort required.

I may love @faraday a little for this. Okay, not even a little. I've got massive girlcrush going on.

Thanks @Auspice. Glad folks are having fun. I'm still smoothing out the edges around the new scene stuff but I do like the wiki posting (which was inspired by @ixokai at Marvel '63) and the fact that it auto-logs the scenes to the web portal (inspired by Arx).

That sounds frigging amazeballs. What I would have given to have that feature when I was STing scenes...

It is frigging amazeballs. I've gone from hating logging to being the first one to set it up (I think I was the first person to use it and help hammer out some of the remaining bugs, too) in a scene. It's an amazing, easy to use system. All games need it.

Hey guys, this cycle's idle list went up.

These folks are at risk of idling out. Come back soon, or at least let Faraday know what you'd want done with your char if you don't have a last will set:
                  Asha
                  Bami
                  Dundonnell
                  Gwyndolen
                  Kymoto
                  Leonie
                  Rion
                  Theo
