@Auspice it looks great!
-
I love this yarn. Pretty rainbow colorway with bits of sparkle. I wanna finish by the end of June but I suspend imma have a hard time with sock #2 once I finish #1.
-
@Auspice At least, in the case of socks, while you only have the one made, no one will so much as doubt: 'clearly, the drier ate the other one'.
-
@Auspice Second Sock Syndrome is a thing.
-
So this is a second version of something I whipped up the other day, that I thought the community might get a kick out of. I have too much time on my hands, apparently.
I give you.. Crochethulhu!

Threw this together awhile back from pieces of cork.

This is awesome!

@Olsson - brb writing stats for something in the D&D 5e campaign I'm running. (Cause earth elemental type creatures are great, but in a campaign where necromancy figures heavily, an earth elemental fashioned out of the ground in which people were buried sounds like exactly the thing I need to inflict on my poor players.)
Seriously, that looks awesome.

Glad you liked it, here's another conversion.
Was on a bit of a undead/spooky antagonist spree awhile back to prepare for a new game.

I shall call him Necrotaur.

I've been messing with my own undead Bloodborne/Dark Souls inspired beastie for Dragon Rampant.
Nearing completion but someone said with the basing that now there's too much green so I guess I'm going back to the shroud with more browns and tans to offset it. Lots of hot glue and Dollar Tree Halloween decorations. Just glad that I finally had a sickness induced fever dream that inspired me to make use of them.
Well, there was the first prototype but the big skulls were too goofy and the Dollar Tree Gravelord Nito needed work so obviously my fever dream told me how to correct it.

I'm gonna participate in the steochalong this year, urged on by a local fiber group I sometimes do stuff with.
It's a mystery cross stitch challenge. Check it out.

Holy crap, I recognized every single thing in this post.
All hail the glow cloud.
There were a couple I missed. (What is the pudding reference??) But yeah, it gives me high hopes for this year's event.
-
It's a live comedy sketch that like many live comedy sketches goes on way too long and has no punchline, but its pure honesty makes it one I quite like.
-
The pudding one gave me such joy, can't lie.

So steotch launched with the thread list this past weekend.
There are over 60 colors on it. It's daunting. It's a little exciting trying to guess what it's gonna be (we guess a person/people based on how many tans and browns are on the list).
But the insane part is getting all of these. Of the local group, I think I had the most on hand and I still had just over half the list.
So people began meeting up last weekend to buy thread, share thread, and then they released an updated 'here's the exact numbers for the over 20" group'.
Some of us who shared have to re-do because we figured 'eh, it won't be THAT much over 20", so let's go with 36-40.....'
One is 2.5 yards? Many are in the 2yds range. That 3 feet ain't gonna cut it.
So I put in orders at 3 different Michaels. I picked up one order last night. I'll get another tonight. There's still 2 shades I haven't found yet.
When I picked up the order last night, the lady goes: 'I don't understand what's going on. Everyone is suddenly ordering thread.' I explained, amused, about the stitch-a-long. But it is not uncommon for those of us participating to go somewhere and find the floss section decimated. Which means outside of our group (of something like 15? or more? participants?) there are likely a fair number of people engaging.
I just loved the lady's befuddlement at why people are buying up DMC floss.

@Auspice This is a thing I did not know about and now I want to do it.

Doooooo eeeeeeet.
The first part of the pattern drops on the 11th. It's free to participate. You just gotta buy your materials (thankfully I had aida cloth on hand and, as noted above, about half the colors).Michaels right now has 40% off (your whole order!) if you place an order online for in-store pickup (which is honestly hella convenient since they hold it for 5 days). Skeins of DMC are usually around $0.56 so NOT EXPENSIVE AT ALL (esp. when you factor the 40% off....)
