I just got an email announcing cookie season was on and giving me directions on how to order online from one of the office sprogs.

@sunny Isn't GSC Season the best?

It's amazing.

So when did the Girl Scout Cookie tradition start? Asking because I have no idea.

Unfortunately, I'm steadily proving to myself that I am prob. diabetic. I feel worse whenever I have sugary things, so.
No cookies for me. I'll just be over here with my snack of pita and hummus. Someone get a box of samoas for me?
-
@deadculture 1917 is when they started selling them. Not sure when they got so crazy popular... but man, I love these damn things. And they added s'mores cookies somewhere along the way, so I had to get a box of those too...
-
@miss-demeanor I shouldn't mention this, but Walgreen's home brand has flawless knockoff Samoas for next to nothing, year-round. Can we hate them just a little for this? Because it's definitely a love/hate sort of deal.
-
@surreality I will inform the boyfriend. He's the Samoa lover in the household.
-
@miss-demeanor They're actually way better (and cheaper) than the Keebler knockoffs (dunno if those are still made or not), believe it or not.

It's true. They do. But I actually still kind of love the GSC one a little more.
And the Walgreen's version of Tagalogs is pretty good, too!
