I wouldn't have said I'd enjoy Ed Sheeran rapping but here I am.

            Deadmau5 - The Veldt

I love this song. It's probably in my top 5 favorite songs of all time.

What I also love? How the song came to be.

Tool is now available on streaming services!

              (Took them long enough.)

I'm really hoping we get something as good as 10000 Days with the new album.

Damn this is good. I love this guy.

So i dunno how I missed a Combichrist album, but a few months ago I did. It, like many of their albums, is a deviation from the previous, and the sound is ever evolving but its still fantastic.

This made me so happy in what has been a very, very trying month.

I'm super grateful I can stream their music finally, although I do own at least one copy of everything they've ever put out - and two of the Salival box set thanks to installing chatrooms on their website in the late 90s getting me a freebie I was way too poor to buy on my own and a sympathy card sent to Adam's then-wife when their dog died earning a second, SIGNED set (pause to squee here, as if I'd just gotten it anew). Definitely love the cover of 'You Lied' by Peach (Justin's first band) you can only find there.

I'm very happy with the new album and very happy TOOL as usual goes that extra mile to make fans want to purchase their hard copies. Working on their band sites, art sites and fanart sites made me really appreciate what a whole package they are, audio-visually and now I'll STFU with my fangirling and crawl back under my rock.

@eye8urcake I've been listening to the new album since Friday like it's the only music in the world. I missed pre-ordering through Amazon and had to go through a lesser-known service, and as a result didn't get my hard copy until yesterday.

Which was great for me, because I got two Toolmases. My friend and I were discussing how Tool always seems to come with an album full of the messages you need right now, and Fear Inoculum doesn't disappoint.

                                    She's going the MIA route.

I can respect it. Touring is hard on all relationships and if you wanna be with your family? Need to give it up.

I'm sure we'll see plenty of her as a featured artist tho.

My girlfriend bought Tool tickets for October. It was $200 and I'm still trying to figure out if this was a good idea or not. Partly because we're in the midst of moving at the end of the month and partially because I'm not sure we'll be able to to. I know we could probably sell them and make that money back, and maybe even thensome, but I'm not sure why I'm apprehensive. Because I've always wanted to see Tool.

But goddamn, Fear Inoculum is not good. It's...okay, but I think it's by far the weakest Tool album I've listened to. There's nothing that really grabs me like the last albums have. For all that people look down their nose on 10,000 Days, coming out of the gate with Vicarious and then Jambi is a great way to start an album. The new album just sounds like one long, ponderous song. Nothing exciting, nothing attention grabbing. Technically it sounds great, with a lot of concepts that are both new and very much in Tool's niche area. But it was just wasn't...interesting?

At this, and this plays into one of the reasons why it took so long to release this, is that the band members just hate each other at this point and couldn't agree on anything for the album and nobody was willing to bend for their 'creative vision'. What we got was the only thing they could agree on.

I should be excited about seeing Tool, but after the release of the album I'm...apprehensive?

@Testament Tool is one of those bands that i really enjoyed in high school, and always felt they had a unique sound but that was it. My brother is OBSESSED with Tool and Primus. When i heard of the new album coming out I got a little excited, because of nostalgia and making an album after all this time seemed like it might break some ground... and then it didn't. It just sounded like... an album filled with non singles, not really 'bad' but definitely not songs i would go out and deliberately listen to. Maybe I'm missing some deeper meaning if i really went back and listened, but music has to hook you as well; you could have the deepest song in the world but if its not good then its not good.

I like what you said about the band, It really does feel like art killed by committee.

I only discovered it following Luke Combs who I like. In fact the he sings a good hook and the song might just stand alone without the rapping doofus in the backwards ball cap.
