I have discovered the joy of really good quality kitchenware, I do not even cook more than once every few days but the nice stuff just feels right to hold and looks great.

This week I have spent the equivalent of about $250 on saucepans.

I think I have a problem and need help.

@packrat You don't. They'll be with you forever. :points to her copper bottoms, stainless steel: I will take those over my cheapie teflons from earlier in my life. 14 years and counting and they're still pretty damn fine. Now get yourself a nice 7 quart enamelware dutch oven! Worth the cost.

Enamelware is amazing. I invested in a mid-grade enamel coated frying pan and the thing can and will give anything a lovely golden crust given proper time and temperature. It's amazing.

@kay They're one of those items in life where quality really does mean you need to shell out a little bit (or moderate amount) more, and you'll have it for life. Sometimes, just look for sales.

@jibberthehut This was to be fair in a 60% off sale already, so yes, stainless steel encapsulated base saucepans where the bottom is something like a quarter of an inch thick. The big danger is that I travel frequently to Denby with work and the place I visit is right next to the Denby Pottery factory shop.

So, I work for DCS's legal department. We have over 300 kids in our system right now, and there are two of us handling cases.

And today, I get a file. Mom and dad are in the system because... they smoke some pot on the weekends. And an anonymous tipster turns this in. And we are legally obligated to act on this information.

Fucking seriously? THIS is what you think DCS should be using its resources for? Shaming something that is quickly gaining traction on legalization?

Let me assure you, we have better things to do. Like help kids who get the crap beat out of them, or molested, or who haven't eaten this week.

Oy. It's spring, the weather is hot as hell and they've decided at work we need to start wearing stab vests. They also decided we have to pay a deposit on them out of our paycheck of 850 dollars. These things are hot and heavy as hell. The only bright side is I looked them up and they're level 2 on stab and slashing as well as ballistic. So at least we can feel a bit safer, but DAMN if I'm not sweating like a pig.

This an online peeve/disgruntlement/irk, but it's not pertaining to a game, so I'mma post it here.....

As @insomniac7809 said, yeah. Yeah. Our AC is broken, and our back door lock is jammed, and the dog is super sick. And after spending more money than we really have and most of the day measuring, carrying, cutting, and loading the lumber and other supplies I need to make him a specialty dog ramp for our inside stairs by myself, a day I should've spent studying but am now spending tired and sweaty and sore.....

I come home to find that Lain is banned. Again. With "Illegal Aryan" as a username this time.

Can we just get a "This motherfucker, AGAIN?!" gif added to the library to post every time he pops up with another annoyingly trollish and probably racist thread, so I don't have to look at the dumb shit he has says for more than a few posts? Can that be a thing? Please? I mean, I know we have a report button or whatever, but really, I think this option is a bonus and would make it very slightly less annoying.
