Okay, I actually think the car parades with all of the honking for the kids who missed their graduations are super cute and really love them.
But why -- FFS, why -- do the ones on my block somehow only ever seem to be scheduled for when I have a raging migraine? This is the third time.
-
@Aria Why do you always schedule your migraines to line up with the car parade?
-
-
Those are pretty frickin' neato.

This used to happen to me... all the time with shoes, and I am a ridiculous girly shoes ho to the nth. We had a discount store near us that was amazing for shoes. This was great! ...unless we forgot to check there first.
I dropped $275 on a pair of Docs once that were and perfect while traveling, because hey, unique and almost sold out and omg last pair is in my size! That place never had Docs... until I got home, and they had a whole fucking display full of that specific line. I felt only the tiniest bit better that they didn't have that exact pair. (And I did pick up another pair I liked for $25, so... I force myself to mentally average that shit out.)
My disgruntled irk: that place is now gone. WOE.
Woe because more than once I'd fallen in love with something fancypants that was $150-$300 and they'd have it there for $20-$50, sometimes the very next day. (They got tons of department store overstock, and I have the small feets in the sizes that don't often sell out fast.)
I miss them. I miss them so hard.

A friend told me about AO3 and I mustered up the courage to register and only now I am learning that they don't technically accept original works.
I don't know how to write fanfic.
-
@Rinel Write your original work, then change the names to protagonists of various works. Call it a cross-over.
-
Why are you like this

I teach. The number of times I've read plagiarised works with just the names changed... it'd be nice to have the opposite.

Thereโs a whole original works category tho
-
Yeah but apparently those are "original works" that have something to do with fandom, like Austen-style Regency romances, and they'll potentially delete stuff that isn't related to a fandom (though they claim nothing is deleted solely for being an original work).
-
@Rinel Ahh. Yeah, I mean, that makes sense, the purpose of AO3 has always been as a repository of fanworks. Are you just looking for some sort of archive for your writing?
-
Yeah :<
-
@Rinel Have you checked out Wattpad?
-
I will now!
-
@Rinel You can also charge for stories on Wattpad! Most of the ones I've seen have, depending on length, included 3-6 chapters for free and then charged using their site-based coin system thing for each chapter thereafter. Or if you like it enough, you can pay in bulk to unlock the whole thing.
-
Bold of you to assume anyone would pay for my writing

I run a business and I try to do it as ethically as I can. I'm my only employee currently but perhaps that will change at some point in future.
I'm very over people saying to me, 'So you're a Leftist, eh? But you run a business, huh? Isn't that just a wee bit hypocritical of you? Your politics don't seem to align.'
That's not how this works. That's not how any of this works. Legit stahp. Why do people not understand the concept of criticising systems while being forced to operate within them or starve.
Also? Miles better than having an employer I'm at the whims of, and working for a company whose principles I don't agree with.

"If you believe in defunding the police, why do you follow the law?"
Yeah, I hear you.
