I would just like to point out for the cheap seats that both @echx and @deadculture were included in the scene in question. In case that wasn't entirely clear.
Neither of us other suggested otherwise.
In fact Martin is the guy who pulled the book out of the fire, which really makes the claims about PC involvement kind of laughable since we got 'involved' before some of the squeaky wheels were even playing the game.
Except that's the point. That's the problem. You both are LONG-TERM OOC friends of Asherat. She has said this a million times. You guys were ACTIVELY INCLUDED in things while other people were being shut out. This was the whole crux of my damn complaint!

@Sunny If I did say it, I'll own up to it. I'm asking her right now.
Did you tell Sunny that shit I said about her?!?!
Oh, no, of course I would never!
Clearly I didn't say it then.
Clearly.
Oh hey see, I didn't say it!
Please refer to @icanbeyourmuse's remark on me being an asshole who owns up to it. If I did insult you, I want to know when and where, and then I will admit to it, gladly, in the context I said it. Because I don't particularly trust you to be a reliable narrator at this juncture, which I am sure is likewise.

She asked you what happened with Em and Martin. You told her I was easy and boring. There's your context, your when, and your where was 'on KD, in pages'.
-
@Sunny Now I know that's full of shit.
-
@deadculture's defense of this is hilarious to me.
It's ok, @Sunny. They are at least all owning up to the fact that they are being giant assholes. Get a snocone, shake the haters off, and find a fun game to play.

So I don't get an answer to the question? At least I can feel comfortable that it was a reasonable 'wtf is he thinking doing this'.
-
@Lorne'eth takes popcorn.
-
@Sunny I honestly believe that I didn't say this, and I certainly wouldn't have sought to have a contract with your Valerian if I did.
So that's the answer you get. I did get startled with one thing, though, but I got over it when I thought we'd smoothed it out OOC. I am going to keep pressing for an answer on that, rest assured, because I want to know if, when and where I said that. If I did, I will be the first to acknowledge that I have, and that it was a mistake.

Reynard was the only character that Asherat invited to the scene. Or are you referring to some other things that I'm missing?
Again: there were a LIMITED NUMBER of seats at this table. One for each Angel, minus Cassiel, plus Elua. Was the whole game supposed to be invited to this scene? Were reality and disbelief supposed to be suspended so that the entire realm could get up in this business? Should razors have been passed out as party favors at the ball so everybody could donate some blood?
Did you read that bit in Skaldia's (pretty irate) mail wherein neither you, nor Aviana, nor Lanval, made any mention of looking into a way to undo the ritual, which is the only thing that happened at this scene? Seriously, how were you being shut out? The Black Cross is still a problem. Hasn't gone away. There's still piles of things to be done, glory to be won, accolades to be acquired, if people do things.
And you know, you were pretty friendly with staff too up until last week.
-
I think her complaint is that other folks couldn't be involved, not just her. Was there no way to do some big thing at the end for everyone else?
-
@Echx said in Kushiel's Debut:
And you know, you were pretty friendly with staff too up until last week.
Isn't that the crux of @Sunny's complaint? She knows she was friendly with Staff, and this got her access to plot, and her problem is that when she tried to get other people also access to plot, people who weren't friendly with Staff, then she got shot down. Thus revealing to her how utterly fucked the situation was?
That's what I'm getting from it, anyway.
-
Yep, I was. Friendly with them up until a few weeks ago, when I realized that being friendly with them was the only reason I was getting involved in anything at all, and that others weren't welcome because they weren't. And then when y'all fucking came at me when I got angry about it. This whole 'we didn't know you were trying to be involved' is complete bullshit, too. I specifically had a conversation with Ash about it. Directly. Specifically.
Oh wait, folks were just trying to investigate how the ritual happened in the -first- place. That's obviously not related, stupid, silly us.
-
@Echx I think you probably missed the part where she was getting willfully stonewalled by staff for trying to get other people involved, Echx. That's sure to sour a relationship.
-
Also, you both may wanna step away for a bit, and cool down. Just my 0.02.
-
I think @Sunny realizes the mistake was getting involved with you at all. We all do. Shhh, it'll be ok. The circle jerk will continue, you get to pretend to be someone important. Without doing a thing. Magic.
-
@Saulot I'm taking that advice.
-
I'm not upset. Like I said. I've found plenty of fun elsewhere. Someone was genuinely concerned with what happened, so I gave what I knew. I'm not here to defend my quitting of a, in my opinion, bad game. Whatsoever.
I will say it's a regular laugh riot that the only people defending the behavior were the ones involved. Yay?
-
@Skaldia Now that your own lackeys have quieted down, I would just like to address one thing. Don't worry, I don't expect a reply, or even anything worth reading in return. It's too much to ask.
When you mention then not stating /exactly/ what they want in a job, I know damn well that you often give a very incomplete answer, then close the job. You also take the most literal path that you, oocly, can see, while others take to gathering information to make future paths feasible.
That being said, your apathy shows. You don't give a shit for your players unless they are part of your circle. And even that changes on a dime - re: this whole situation. So don't pretend otherwise. Those who don't know better, don't know you.
For those who don't know you...you aren't worth knowing.
-
@Lorne'eth I didn't quit because any of this effected me directly, really. I quit because I realized what type of game it was at that point and chose to end my involvement.
But yes. Essentially. This is why I don't endorse it:
-
Very little plot.
-
Staff is next to nonexistent, having no real presence on the game unless you're in their play circle RPing with their alts (The Royalty).
-
When Asherat does actually get involved in running the game, she does not do well. The game has too many players for her to manage in what little plot there is.
-
Skaldia... well, you saw. Don't need to go into that, obviously.
Umm...not even going to touch staff favoritism. Play the game or don't. Draw your own conclusion. But there you have it. This is why I think KD is a bad game. That Martin's friggin' player @deadculture popped in to bait people and make veiled threats at me is really a testament to what you're in for playing here. Staff won't bully you directly. They'll get their buddies to do it for them.
