Holiday materialism! Let's talk gifts.

@aria You win Christmas. I want this.

I got the expensive boots for Christmas. ^_^
-
For Chanukah this year, I got a Pax 3. Best portable herbal vape I've tried.

An hour and a half of research, a non-inconsiderable amount of money later and today I realized - too late - I forgot my in-laws' big present back home.
Well, never say I didn't ruin Christmas! I'll have to come back on the weekend and bring it over, else the Google Home they're getting as a side isn't gonna be that useful on its own.

This is what a print-out hastily stuffed into a card is for. It's less exciting, but at least gives them something to open instead of just telling them, and people seem to like that when I've done it, or when the thing I got them was, like..... a subscription box that wasn't going to arrive for awhile, concert tickets that would be at will call, a package that arrived late, or a promise to take them on a trip to a store to pick out the color/finish/whatever option on something I already paid for etc. Of course, it probably helps that @insomniac7809 's family does the same thing, so they don't get offended when I do it.

I asked MUCH too late to actually get any - but I really want teachers-pay-teachers gift cards. I've gotten to the point in my career where I would much rather purchase and modify for my needs someone else's work than creating it myself.
That'll be my birthday request and I'll hope that I can con the people about me into it. They always want to get me fun-play-gifts.
I want practical ones.

We bought mostly 'family' gifts this year. ie. things the entire family can enjoy. Namely, Amazon Fire Sticks for all the tv's and an Xbox One S for the living room, as well as a blue-ray player that also is in the living room. There may also have been a Chinese knockoff NES mini preloaded with 500 games. >.> <.< So that, then gift cards galore so we could let the kids buy up games and movies for said consoles. And a yearly subscription to Boomerang, because retro cartoons are still the best.
