Power Rangers: Power of the Grid

So some months ago I gauged interest in a PR/KR MU. I've been idle, but I'm on a kick again. So here's the pitch for basic setting. I'm ... probably going to start writing a theme this weekend.
What is wrong with me?
Lord Drakkon is dead.
Defeated by his younger self, the wicked Ranger troubles the earth no more. His machinations have, however, caused untold changes. The merging of timelines, of alternate universes, has not been undone upon his defeat. The earth, This Earth, and the stars beyond are now home to many teams of Rangers to protect it. A side effect has also caused other individuals, who call themselves Riders, to manifest powers of their own.
Also on the Earth and in the Stars are all of the Rangers' enemies. The Machine Empire. Zedd. More and legion. Darkness swells, and only the Rangers and their allies can rise up to face these threats. A wise man once said these words that echo through the Grid.

This calls out to my inner child, who always wanted to grow up to be the Green/White Ranger. I'll be watching this with interest.

I am going to be writing theme files and that kind of thing this weekend. I'm pretty much using Boom! Comics with some kamen rider stuff because I am a fanboy. I will say that OC ranger teams and Riders and villains will be a thing because I am too old to give a shit about almost anything but rule of cool as long as it fits the setting.

What are you thinking for codebase? It seems like you could stand this up in Ares almost overnight with the FS3 plugin.

@gryphter That is a question that I don't have an answer for. I am a code idiot. I will be looking for a coder and stuff. I'm open to suggestions.

Upside to Ares is you don't need a coder.
I've touched code once for my game and that was a tweak that's not needed for most.I do have a lot of custom CSS, but that's not necessary either if you use one of the pre-built themes for the web portal.
Really, it's just about being able to customize settings and @faraday has tons of documentation on that.

@Auspice Looking through Ares stuff, I'm probably going to use it. I may just skip a combat code entirely, even though I love my crunchy bits. For what I want in a code, it'd have to be built from the ground up, anyway. (multiple modes, separate giant robot stuff). It may just be easier to roll without one and then if I can ensla--convince someone to make something, go from there.

@popes Solid plan. You never know, the game might draw a coder who wants to take that on. I'm not being coy; I couldn't code my way out of an ASCII paper bag. Stranger things have happened, though.

@popes I've been looking closer at Ares code and at Ruby and am hardly a coder myself, but it seems like something I could probably handle.
Of course, this may just be ignorance talking.

That being said, at the time I might have dreamt it, it was during Mighty Morphin' and they hadn't become a thing yet!

@Cupcake They recently created an Orange ranger for a Make-a-wish kid. So that color has now been done.

I'll be honest, Mighty Morphin' is all I know.
My younger siblings were really into the one where they go into space tho, so I caught glimpses of it.
But MM was my show.

Also, if anyone is interested in helping me out, be it writing files, or writing baller ass plugins for Ares, let me know. Feel free to PM me. It's a process, and none of this shit is fast, but it's faster with help.
