CoD Ancient Rome game...

@toreadorfool That makes a lot of sense; basically we're playing in a world with the acceptance of werewolves and vampires and whatnot existing, so the idea that gender and social equality also exists shouldn't strain anyone's suspension of disbelief.

Look, obviously I'm going to be a Xena clone with a badass chakram and an awesome singing voice and a metal bustier over my little leather mini romper skirt dress. I'll know all the cool people like Caesar and Cleopatra and Abraham and Ulysses, and will bang both the God of War and my adorable blonde sidekick.
I can do that, right?

You cannot do that, no.
The God of War is [redacted]. As are all the other Gods.
You can totally bang someone pretending to be the God of War, though.

@Cupcake Dibs on Hudson Leick as a PB!

@Jennkryst Even though I am assuming Cupcake is joking, I wanna expand on what Jennkryst is referring to. On the discord it was asked what the Roman Gods are really going to be. Spirits? Gentry? Etc.
They are the Gods. People believe in them, wolves and vamps included. Because those wolves and vamps and such are ROMANS. Monsters can pretend to be the Gods here and there, but the others frown on it, and it doesn't tend to last very long. Just like the Christian God doesn't legit show up in scenes on most modern day games, and neither does Jesus Christ, the Gods won't appear on-grid or in plots. Their faiths and cults, however, will absolutely have big things to do with plots, politics and similar, though, because that is the way it is. Venus doesn't walk down the main streets and visit the temple because this isn't Percy Jackson. Can some Gentry have -aspects- of the Gods? Sure. But no Changeling will likely think they were legit taken by the Gods, because the Gentry are Other. They are distinctly non-Roman. Monsters.
Does this all make sense?

Cupcake is joking.
Although if there was an Amazon faction similar to the one on the show I'm referring, I would build a character for that in a hot minute. Although, they're more a fantasy Grecian motif and aren't really suited to Rome as opposed to Age of Myth and Legend slash Antiquity.
-
@Cupcake There could easily be a somewhat fitting Mystery Cult or wolf lodge or something, but it wouldn't be full-on Xena. It could be bad ass warrior woman, though.
-
This sounds fun. ^^ My interest is def perked by the religious stuff.

I think you're on the right track here. Historical accuracy doesn't work on MU* anyway since not everyone is an expert and players shouldn't struggle too much about menial details of everyday life - plus I like your emphasis on giving mortal women a bit more agency, too, since they'll account for a large portion of the playerbase.
As long as you can pull up an 101 about where the setting stands (are there washrooms? what do people wear? what are the rights of Roman citizens versus other ethnicities?) you should be fine, and you can focus on bloodsuckers versus toga-wearing werewolves or what have you.

UPDATE:
Lots of basic code is in, and now working on overhauling the spheres so their code can be properly installed. We moved to a new server space, due to the other one not being properly up to date, etc.
We also now have a website for our wiki! So, updated positions needed:
SPHERE FOLKS: I need people who are willing to work with me to make the setting and spheres for Vampire, Werewolf, Changeling, Gutter Magic (Which will have a new name and organizations and be its own sphere) and mortal (AKA mortal organizations and stuffs). Vampire's theme is mostly hammered out.
WIKI: We have a wiki now that is empty. I need someone who is able to make it look AWESOME. I do not want a plain or boring looking wiki. Fallcoast, NOLA and a bunch of others have a good looking mediawiki site and I really want something similar.
Once the code is done on the spheres and such I can start working on the grid. It will contain the city of Rome, surrounding countyside (For patricians and the like who have rural villas, or farms and the like, plus more rural, wild rp), and the Necropolis, which is the underground city of the Vampires. We'll have RP Rooms,of course, for locations not on-grid.
And of course, more.

When the book is fully out we can start to discuss Mummy. XD

mummy mummu mummers
Y'know, after watching you desperately campaign for literally like years now, I will laugh my ass off if someone actually implements it and you never make one.

There is (technically) one mummy PC approved on New Orleans.
immediately goes to wikistalk EVERYONE

UPDATE:
There was some serious code problems, but my awesome coder has been going through and fixing and reinstalling everything I screwed up! Now Vampire is pretty much installed (Bloodlines will come later, and will be very different, likely, since many modern ones don't exist).I have begun working on Werewolf now, and have a pretty good grasp of what they are like during this period. I am not using the Dark EPics version, but instead tieing them to the Romulus/Remus myth.

tieing them to the Romulus/Remus myth.
I think this is a great move.

Issue:
I wrote the theme for wolf, and the only mechanic that really needs to be changed is the Technology gifts. I can write theme, but am garbage at mechanics! Help! XD
EDIT: Nevermind! One of the Dark Era's books has viking era gifts, and their Tech gift replacements will work.

Wolf is IN! Now, onto Changeling. I haven't decided if I will come up with new Courts or not. I just find the normal seasonal Courts so -iconic-, and I love them, so I am probably just keeping them in as-is. So, minimal changes needed for Ling, thankfully.

Man, honestly, I really wish you would do custom courts for the game. The new edition is a lot more versatile and kind of built for that sort of customization; seems like a wasted opportunity.
