In need of some wordy creativity
-
Hey folks!
I know Play by Post doesn't exactly seem to be ...popular at all, idk...
But I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for places to try it out?I no longer have the time to MU* in real ish time, which makes me kinda sad. But really in need of some wordy creativity that isn't just me in an echo chamber of my own shitty writing.
-
You might still be able to MU*. Ares has the ability to allow for play by post style MU*ing. It's not really my thing, so I don't know much about it, but I know a few people around here are really into it.

@ominous
Oh cool!Next question then...
Wtf is Ares?
I've seen folks talk about it a bit, but not totally sure what it is. And not sure my Googling attempts are finding the correct thing.
Quick link or point in the right direction? n.n. -
@bluebird AresMUSH: https://aresmush.com/
You can find Ares games here: https://arescentral.aresmush.com/games
The specific tolerance for play-by-post style "asynchronous RP" will vary from game to game, though. It's more of a game culture thing; it's just that Ares has support for it baked in whereas on other MU platforms the players have to switch to a google doc or something for async RP.
You can also check out Storium, which is directly built around play-by-post style RP: https://storium.com/

Ares is a good option for asynchronous play, and if you find time can still dig up synchronous RP.
Forum-wise, RPG Directory is a forum for posting ads for various forum/pbp RPs. Like Mud-Connector. It seems to have a few Mu* folks that no longer mu for their own reasons.

Arx also has a bit of a play by post thing with their 'flashback' system. Like @Ominous that isn't really my style so I can't tell you how it works or anything.
-
Arx does have the flashback system, but I think overall you’d struggle on the game if you wanted to EXCLUSIVELY do that. The game culture doesn’t really support its use for primary play.

Rolegate. It is a good place for play by post
