@Ghost Sure, that's exactly what I'm saying right now. I'm acknowledging that this is what's happening and maybe we should ALL try and reframe. I'm working on it myself.

6ix Remains - Alpha
https://6ixremains.thecryingbeard.com/
Welcome to Hogtown, where the brain worms are not metaphorical.
A band of survivors trying to eke out an existence in a city shut off from the rest of the world, contending with formerly-human worm-infested husks, other bands of survivors, supply shortages, and the elements. Will you be one of the few who remains?
6ix Remains is a story of community-building and survival. It is a story of difficult decisions, ingenuity, and finding strength and resilience in the face of overwhelming odds. A story about ordinary people who become extraordinary in extraordinary circumstances.
Just don’t piss off the librarians. They’re armed.
Right now, we are in the leadup to the official Alpha opening. We're open for CG, RP, low-key events (both staff- and player-run), and testing out ideas, themes, and implementation, with the official plot launch planned in about a month. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!

@Ghost Yeah. It's all fraught and weird and I certainly am not qualified to come up with a solution for it other than making a reminder to myself that the person on the other side of my computer screen is real and has feelings and exists beyond my need for cheap dopamine and a flaming dunk when I'm pissed at them.
I get that a lot of us have issues and I guarantee that all of us nerds have been bullied, and I know that we all have some degree of trauma from MU-related interactions. I think that we are all verging on middle age now and accountability needs to look different than it did twenty years ago. I wish I was smart enough to propose a better model, but things as they stand are not healthy.

RE: Ruiz
@Ghost I was being reactive and I wasn't being kind.
Having dysfunctional behaviors doesn't make someone a bad person, anyway. We all have them. They can be unlearned.

RE: Ruiz
@Macha You weren't pre-banned due to anyone's accusations. You were banned because you were using my game as a chat service to contact my players and bring your bullshit drama onto the game I pay for. When I decided to ban you for that, you used a VPN to contact one of the same people again, who had already told you in no uncertain terms that they were not going to engage with you on this topic.
DARVO all you want, darlin'. I've been DARVOed by far better.
Also, "alphabet mafia" is some real homophobic bullshit.

Whoops, I said that already. I thought that it was a thing that I had only thought. More the fool I for not looking back at my own posts.

RE: Ruiz
One of the big problems with our community is that we have opted for identifiability with handles, but still operate with a Web 1.0 culture of anonymity when it comes to our actual identities. I'm not saying that we should all post our pictures and addresses or whatever, but this disconnect leads to identifiability without humanization and I think this is what leads to so many of the problems we have seen historically, here and on WORA and on BMD.
I don't know if I have a solution for this, but I do think that is a central issue of the cultural dysfunction of the community.

RE: Ruiz
@Derp And you are doing to Cobalt what they did to me here. One person doesn't need to be evil for the other one to not be evil. Human beings are all complicated. Is it possible that no one was acting in bad faith there? That no one here is a manipulative mastermind and people are just all fucked up and react to things? Isn't that far more likely?
I get the need to defend a friend. But I don't think this is the kindest or most thoughtful way to do it.
I admit that I have been reactive the last few days. We all have lives and stressors and triggers outside of MUing that color and inform how we react to things.
I think that if you want this space to be better than the other one, taking a step back from good guy/bad guy black and white thinking is a great start. I don't think Macha is a bad person. I banned her because I didn't trust her to not engage in problematic behavior due to behavior displayed in my space. If she had come and just been chill and played and not brought her trouble from elsewhere to my space, we wouldn't be having this conversation. Maybe in the future things will change. I'm willing to give people that grace.

RE: Ruiz
@Ghost One is based on logs. The other is fanfiction. Can you spot the difference between these two pictures?

RE: Ruiz
@hobos This is a MU forum, where people are deemed evil forever because they pissed someone off in The Year of Our Lord 2002. That's what these forums always become. We have a weird situation in this hobby where we have identifiability via handles but a Web 1.0 culture of anonymity about the details of our lives and image, so we have identifiability minus humanization.

RE: Ruiz
@Ghost It's almost like she doesn't owe you anything. Buck up, buttercup.
Are you folks seriously going, "Answer my questions so we can prove you didn't commit this crime we made up out of thin air because we don't like you"?

RE: Ruiz
@Macha I saw the log. The first time you messaged them, they responded and you responded to that.
Also, Google is fucking free. And I'm done giving your dysfunctional ass attention. Just stop.
