I told my daughter the rat is one of the many 'actor rats' in these. She loves rats, we have 2.

When it all clicks and the writing is so good in a scene, it's literally breath-taking. And you sit and stare a while, between poses, after poses, spending long minutes weighing your response because it's all valuable, it means something to these characters, this story, connects it all into something greater. Like a chess match with feelings and prose. Just ... wow.

Yeah. That was awesome.

APPARENTLY. REAL FRIENDSHIP INVOLVES SCREAMING AT EACH OTHER IN ALL CAPS. THAT IS WHAT THIS MEANS. PAGES AND PAGES OF RAGING AGGRESSIVE AFFECTION. AAAHHHH.

When you are very uncertain how what you're writing is going to be received, but know it must be done, and you're typing with one eye closed, squinting, like you're at that part of a movie that you know is going to be an utter disaster to witness, but you have to watch it, you -have- to, and oh god, you hit enter-

-and it's great. Better than great. Received, returned, and you go to the next pose. At the end of it? You've got a story and a log that makes you stare up at the ceiling for a while, but not one you can reread for a bit. Because holy hell, the things you wrote and your character did/said/shouted/accused/etc.

ETA: This has been the experience for over a month. I know stuff happens in waves, waxing, waning, etc., and right now I'm just really happy with my writing and all the writing I've done with the most amazing RPers. YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE. You guys. You guys are so great.

Talking to @Herja on the phone several times a week, one of the few good things to come out of this pandemic. I know it's silly, but she has the most soothing, sweetest voice, and with not being able to see each other, getting out of text now and then to talk has been really great. She calms me down when I think I'm gonna lose my shit (being stuck at home, dealing with homeschooling my kids, living with my parents while we shop for a hoouuuse) with this commanding, chill-the-fuck-out-SinCerely voice that's less like mom-tone and more like Dominatrix-mode (but not like that). Making it a habit to actually speak to each other was probably the best idea ever.

10/10 would recommend.
