The Arx Cats series started just as I was taking a hiatus. I think I seriously need a Calista Cat.

RE: Arx Alts
I play Calista (no surprise there) and she's been my ride or die for going on 4 years now. You might see me on more now that I've graduated! Still mostly evening though since my wee bosses are super high maintenance.
For those new folks who might feel overwhelmed by lore and story, please don't. I still have no idea about half the Arx stories.

RE: The Haul
I got a kitchenaid stand mixer and a Dyson cordless vacuum. The vacuum wasn't in the plans but given that my vacuum decided to call our relationship quits on Christmas Eve, I decided to upgrade.
The KitchenAid is for all my gluten-free baking needs. I am totally jazzed about it. Also the color is so pretty; retro minty green.

RE: MUSH Marriages (IC)
Most of my IC marriages are to people who are mega idle. This happened on Firan and it's happening on Arx. They are blissful arrangements.
On Firan - my noble had a wedding and all that jazz but the player wasn't ever active. I had one commoner who also did the whole courtship, IC ceremony, etc. That was a happy little story.
On Arx - my noble had the whole courtship thing and we did a wedding ceremony off screen. We've actually done a lot of things off screen due to scheduling conflicts but the story is really good. My commoner is with someone and I assume it's a common law marriage. That too is a good story. I've been lucky so far on Arx to have really chill and fun RP partners.

RE: Sexuality: IC and OOC
@Pandora said in Sexuality: IC and OOC:
Being 'male' and a decent writer will honestly get you wherever you want to go in this hobby because the dick-drought is real and it isn't going anywhere, any time soon.
If I could upvote this a thousand times I would. Sadly this isn't the board for all that come out of that particular quote, but thank you for saying it.
Most of my characters have been bi because there's something to be said about mental chemistry vs physical chemistry when it comes to MUing. There is also a freedom to exploring sexuality ICly whereas it might not be something one can do in RL.
I have yet to play a male character, though I am very curious lately. Maybe my next alt.

RE: MU Things I Love
When you've been working hard on things IC and OOC and someone you know just a little pays you and your group a really nice compliment. Totally makes pretendy funtimes worth it again.

RE: Twinking in RP MU*
How bad is it that every time I see this thread come up all I read is "Twerking in RP MU*?"

Joan Cusak - Modern Face.
I just saw her in something the other day and she looked so different but I have to agree with you. I can't imagine her in a period piece film. Though I loved her in Addams Family Values as Debbie.

RE: MU Things I Love
That moment when you realize the players in your family/org (and extended friends) are just as spontaneous and wild as you are; Absolutely no ooc drama the moment they are tossed into a surprise GM'd scene by someone who is a total amateur GM and they are all shouting "GIMME MORE CHAOS!" Watching it all somehow come together because the players were all so cool. Really inspires me to try GMing a prp, something I would have never considered in the past. Thank you. Awesome players

I'm coming back. I promise. I got overwhelmed.

RE: Space Lords and Ladies
Before the shit hit the fan, I really really liked SC. It was different from some other games and it was just large enough to have a good mix of people from different places. I think out of all the new people I met on there, I talk to 1 player but she's quite awesome so it's totally win. Reading back on some of these posts, I have to say I nearly spit my drink out reading about Lyov pushing away Yara's creepy pre-teen. I remember that. I laughed back the, too.

RE: Characters You Enjoyed Playing
I've had quite a few characters I've enjoyed over the years. I didn't start out in the MU community. My introduction to RP was on AOL and it was by accident, many, many moons ago. It was there I met the person who would introduce me to MUs and the first one was Firan.
Cataryna - I played her for quite a while and she eventually became pretty skilled at healing. I was able to take her to war season and have her help out soldiers on the battle front and in triage. Working with the players who put war season together was always stressful but fun and I definitely found a lot of good folks who eventually became friends from playing Cataryna.
Dalasi - When I didn't want to play a noble, I had this side piece alt, Dalasi Whitefeather whom I played for a while, then rostered, then took her again then rostered but eventually took her back. She was a Gladiator; a small, fiery, wild, free spirit who had an affinity for naming her kids after different types of birds. She became a guard for the Clan Leader's family, was a well known armorer and it was just fun to have a character that was a sassy ball buster.
Tia - The Last Tia on Firan. That was me. I had no intention on taking her and sort of last minute I put in an application for her. I was pretty surprised to get her. At the point in her life when I started playing her, Tia was still a sought after socialite, wife of the Clan Leader, and an absolute delight. While I did not play her very long, I had some pretty memorable scenes with Cecilia, Ojitar, and Atreidian.
Firan was not the place where I made any life altering changes or part of the metaplot but that was Firan and that is neither here nor there. I had fun with all the characters I played there regardless of how long I actually played them.
I played some on The Reach for a while, Star Crusades, The Fifth World, Reno, Fallcoast.... I enjoyed the characters I created but nothing really grabbed me for the long term until Arx. Maybe it's the whole Lords and Ladies thing. Maybe that's my jam
Calista - There is so much I can say about this character. She is not at all the character she was initially designed to be because of life changes. She's evolved into something far more intriguing and her story is utterly fascinating to me. She went from being the socialite little sister to a business minded Duchess of her family who ended up marrying a man from the family of her greatest nemesis. And that's just the stuff I can talk about! I'm definitely invested in this story and definitely cannot wait to see where it goes.

I’ll give you props for Alaric but Ferrando is a funny mfer. Plus, he saves my girl from awkward encounters in her forge.

RE: How does a Mu* become successful?
In my opinion it's something like what makes a business successful; Supply and Demand. If you have a great product and have skilled people working for you in order to make sure your clients are happy, you can say you have a successful business. In the games I've played, the ones with active staff also seem to have active players. As soon as staffers became inactive, players started to drop off.

RE: Sockmonkey's Playlist
Awesome to have you around on Arx! I was Cataryna and also the last Tia on Firan. I'm currently Calista on Arx.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Darinelle I may have to steal the idea of 'Seduce for a puppy'. Puppies are full of win.
