RE: Mac OS Sierra Client
You can also try out Mudlet. I tried it out for a little while but went back to Atlantis. The reason I wanted to try it was because of the plugin system. I was able to get a plugin (YATCO) that allowed me to move my OOC chat out of my main window but still have it on the screen (two panes basically).
Sparks showed me you can pull spawns out into their own windows and then I discovered OSX's split view and I haven't looked back.
Mudlet is more configurable like Potato but it seems to be sluggish on OSX. It has that feature where if you scroll the output pane it splits it and lets you continue to see the bottom few lines of output which is really annoying to me and there doesn't seem to be a way to disable that. It also has it's own spell check which is not as good as the built in OSX spell check and it changes the right click menu which won't allow you to look up words easily.
Try it out but I'm betting you'll want to stick with Atlantis.

RE: Atlantis Client: How to autolog
@sparks said in Atlantis Client: How to autolog:
Technically in Atlantis 1.0 you can rip spawns out of the window and drop them anywhere, but I think I'm the only person that actually uses multiple windows. (If I'm in a scene and there's an Events or Plot channel for OOC chatter, I spawn it and then rip the spawn out to drop next to the main Atlantis window.)
I just did this and discovered OSX split view. This is perfect for me.

RE: Atlantis Client: How to autolog
@sparks A cool feature I'd love in Atlantis 2.0 is the ability to have multiple panes. I'd rather use triggers to move OOC chat lines to new spawns and then just view them at the same time in another pane. I set this up in Mudlet recently using a script called YATCO (Yet Another Tabbed Chat Option) but I'd like Atlantis more if it had this ability.

RE: Adapting FATE for MU*s
This isn’t the same thing but I think on a personal note adopting aspects from Fate can help your roleplay. Roll your character in Fate and then use the aspects to inform your decisions in whatever game you’re playing. You could invoke them for good or for bad just like in Fate. Obviously it would all be just for you and wouldn’t have any in game mechanical effect if you’re not playing on a Fate game but it could be a cool way to help your roleplay.
