I'm not a coder, and I currently play active on SR Denver as staff, but I'm very happy this is still happening and look forward to playing when it's in beta-test and/or Public!

RE: Roleplaying writing styles
@Arkandel I tend to pose with brevity over length, but punch as much detail in said pose. I'm a big fan of James Ellroy's "Underworld USA" trilogy which used this to "telegraph" heaps of information as concisely as possible. Admittedly, this works better for more "modern" settings.
Stylistically this makes something like this:
Ray looks tired, as if he's been up all night on MUSoapbox. His wrinkled uniform created great undulating waves of fabric as he sat down to talk about the dungeon crawl. His cold grey eyes flitted from each dungeon crawler, to the barkeep who'd put out the word for this kind of battle. His aloof body language seemed to say: Not interested.TO: Meet Ray the tired fuck and his wrinkled outfit. Dead grey eyes shift/assess/judge the table of misfits. A long stare spoke for the bartender: "No thanks."
I also think if characters get into heavy dialogue, they shouldn't spend too much posing around their character's sentences.

RE: Suitable system for a gritty fantasy game
@fatefan It's future based, but as a staffer on Shadowrun Denver, I can attest that plots I'm running are most definitely "gritty fantasy". Elves using car bombs. Free Spirits in hoc to infobrokers...that kind of thing.

RE: ISO Collaborators for Shadowrun
@tragedyjones I've written these for Shadowrun:Denver (never got approved) but definitely some thoughtful bullet points and a way to make it risk vs reward (as alts). I also have a law enforcement background, for what it's worth.

RE: ISO Collaborators for Shadowrun
While I have literally zero computer programming expertise nor experience, I am happy to lend whatever creative writing is needed to help expand or flesh out the world(s). Just shoot me a message.

RE: Shadowrun Denver & New Plot
@Lithium Come hop on the game, I work with all types of characters and often impose either a limited karma pool or zero refresh during course of the campaign. I'm pretty easy going too.

RE: Shadowrun Denver & New Plot
@Jennkryst We've got some of that noir/grit stuff going right now, happy for a helping hand if interested....

RE: Shadowrun Denver & New Plot
@faraday You can, much of the everyday plots are dependent on self-generation/player run plots (think of them as weekly episodes or dungeon crawls or whatever you want).
Right now i'm getting the metaplot started and I've planted clues and rumros and what not. I've played a drug addicted streetdoc and a tacit legbreaker for a grandfathered mobster. We have a guy who moonlights a s superhero and a Vory-adjacent fixer.
It's more that the narrative responsibility is on you for everyday stuff because staff overall is mroe hands off. As story teller staff I'm hands on, but it's one story. Though a journalist might want to dig into rumors. We have a ganger running a nomad crew in the Warrens. It's pretty wide open currently, honestly.

RE: Shadowrun Denver & New Plot
@Thenomain Still accepting players if for kickoff plot!
Does is even really matter debating a fictional universe vs the real world universe? Why not just let it be what it is- anachronistic at some points (wired internet, bulky cybernetic implants), and completely on point at others (i.e: Complete corporate coup of world governments + insane rich/poor dichotomy).
And BTW - Much fun to be had at Shadowrun Denver on the new plot.. Just log on!
