The log forgery can be technologically detected with the right server side support. I have seen people respond with horror about the idea of a server keeping all messages ever sent, but there is another option. If the server automatically keeps crypto (sha256 for example) hashes of all messages sent/received, then any log submitted as evidence would be trustworthy if its hash matches a corresponding hash in those server side records. Obviously bad admins with access to the hash logs can defeat this, but that just goes back to bad staff makes for terrible games.

RE: Wheel of Time
One of the most interesting campaign setting ideas I've run across was an Alternate Timeline where Rand and Nynaeve Burned themselves to death clensing Saidar (and other equally drastic ends occurred to the rest of the canon characters).
Oops...so much for that Dragon Reborn....now what?!?

RE: Spirit Lake - Discussion
Wow....where's the crotchety old Doomsday Prepper with the 300-acre mountain "compound" who made his fortune in his youth exterminatin' all the damn vampires (and demons and everything-else-that-go-bump-in-night)?

RE: Star Wars Stand Alone - Staff Sought
As a newbie to the MUSH-ing world I'm looking forward to seeing this come alive.
My first thoughts were "a couple of resource rich planets (maybe one breadbasket and tourism, the other a harsh, but rare-mineral-rich, world), a few asteroid belts complete with smuggler dens, an Imperial medium-sec prison moon to add tension and the occasional high-profile rebel presence, and some orbital heavy industry"....sounds like Star Wars territory to me.

RE: MU* Server Technology/Features. What do you WANT, what do you SEE?
@kumakun For what it's worth, Ranvier.js is the "modern" node.js based MU/MUD engine.

RE: Deep Shadows - Shadowrun 5th Edition MUSH - Help Wanted
I've played/game-mastered SR since first edition, and also am an Evennia coder and am looking forward to this!

@thenomain What are these "spawns" you speak of?

RE: A new platform?
I'm still trying to read through the other "Alternative Formats for MU" ~400-post thread, but keeping up with this one and getting work done is hard. So rather than try to address all of the points I'd want to, I'll just leave a screenshot for what I'm working on which is hopefully less of an eyesore than that ...ninja....thing.

now imagine that with the google voice-to-text api button off the side of the command input area and an extra row of assignable buttons above the text area.
A picture in this case seems worth a thousand words.

RE: A new platform?
@griatch, since you've gone ahead and mentioned my game (the rogue-like-ish) as something unique, I guess I'll take a moment to introduce myself to the community, as an outsider-looking-in. Besides reddit's /r/MUD forum, this seems to be the last surviving place where the community really gets together to chat about the hobby.
I guess I am, very much, trying to build "A new platform". I'm using Evennia as my base and working on features that most of you will probably hate, but are designed explicitly to attract a new player base, of which I feel I am a prime example of. That's probably it's own thread entirely, but I will say here that I am most definitely NOT going to have my game use the current sorta-standard syntax. Only the most intrepid newbies are willing to go through that learning curve.
Anyway, uh.... Hi.
